Yes there is a sandbar just north of the MAIN sandbar on the cali side... To find it just look for the bouy signs to an entrance of a bigger opening, very small... it is a very nice place with a ledge
What I find odd is how many people came close to us while we were there standing in knee high water.... What do you think should have been a clue it was shallow, 4 people standing in knee high water, Duh
and by the way,the water was higher than normal...

Devils Elbow could definately be a cool spot to chill. There is a shallow area on the cali side. I've hung out there a few times before, now that it's no wake.........

EWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!! BAD water :yuk: made my insides sick 10yrs ago, I cant' imagine how bad it is now, it use to be nice in the 70's/80's, a buddy of mine had a wood boat :rolleyes: at the Sea World Marina so we got to spend a few hours a month scraping the bottom. :yuk: :yuk:

i'll admit, i have only been to havasu once this summer and before that was when i was like 16 (12 years ago)...and pretty much grew up there through my whole childhood.....I remember when copper canyon was a cool place to chill out - now i hear rumors of it being closed because someone got shot?!
now - you would think that going to the sand bar up north would be a safer bet, but after i see countless comercials on TV for Girls Gone Wild being filmed at the sand bars and copper canyon - I can only imagine how crazy it gets (drunk naked girlfriend being video taped + drunk jealous boyfriend with a gun = disaster)
but gangs? are you serious? or are you using the term losely as if they are just gun packing thugs? and since when can such ignorance afford boats?
dont get me wrong. I am all about having a good time...drink some beers, see some tits and ass, and catch some rays.....but what drives anyone to think "i need to bring my gun just in case shit goes down!"

I dont want to come off as a tough guy or anything like that. I just dont want to see anyone killed. If gangbangers get the messege people at the river wont tolerate there bullshiat than perhaps they'll start staying home or find some other place to cause problems. I always find it best to try to reason with people and for the most part it works. Another solution is to start pulling the focks over and citing them for whatever you can find. I hate seeing the mom and pops being pulled over for silly infractions while the gangbangers get away with bullshiat.

There's another little secret spot about a 1/2 mile up. It's across from where the canoes stop to look at the indian rock designs. It has a buoy there and the opening is about the width of your boat. It opens up into a small lagoon behind the reeds. You can hear the boats go by, you can't see them and thy can't see you.

Yeah, it was some of the craziest stuff I have ever seen. I didnt realize how naive I was till that weekend.
There were girls on every other boat putting beer bottles where the sun dont shine (among other things), chicks giving oral to men, other women.

I have been thinking twice about buying a home in havi because the city/police are so backwards. Last time i was up, i got a noise ticket (with my outboard), meanwhile we had out shit broken into up at the house. Seems as if they need to get there priorities straight. Probably the group I saw next to Bradley Ford on Industrial Saturday about 10 AM. Lots of wife beaters/gray shorts and white socks beers in hand on the street. Two rental pontoons pulled up and they piled on. Headed for the mini sandbar??? :mad: :mad::mad:
