Friend and me went out of granite bay then up the n. fork to the 5 mile zone last sat. Really nasty water on the way for a hydro ! No pasties found, probably just around the corner. Had to get back before winds came up. Looked and felt like the patato patch out of the Golden Gate bridge near the launch. Glad to get the hydro back on the trailer safe and sound, had fun floating around.

Glad to get the hydro back on the trailer safe and sound, had fun floating around.WOW,i am impressed,you really made it in the hydro on labor day weekend from Granite bAY to rattlesnake bar?The potato patch dont have nothing on Folsom on the big weekends with all those plowboats parting the Red Sea :220v:Rangers had to be doing a double take when they saw you :rollside: I do recall the days,20 years ago when hydros and Flatys were pretty common out there :cool:

You really need to know how to read the water to get a pickle thru bad water. I run the side of big rollers and crusie the top of smaller roller water. The problem near the launch was rollers crossing each other. The trick is to keep up the speed, dont stall the motor and pray ! Trouble comes when you run a hydro to slow, need to keep up the front with speed. I've run a schiada flat since 1968 so have learned a lot, pickle is just much more of a challenge.
