Remember going to Lions Drag Strip in Long Beach to watch my Mom race back in the late 60's-early 70's.
Love them old school gassers.

Here's my buddies dad racing that same car. We are rebuilding this bike right now. It should be pretty cool when it's done.

My grandfather built the B-Gas 1961 Winternats champion car.
Hotrod Magazin bought all the rights to his home movies.
Those clips you posted are great. thanks.

Love the staggered stack mechanical injection... how have you found that to tune for the street? I'm building a 1950 Studebaker truck in a gasser style with a 327 and a 4 speed, straight axle front and quickchange rear. I want to go with mechanical injection, but dad think it is more bother than it is worth and that a cross-ram or 4 Strombergs would be better on the street.

Snoop, well hes right its a waste for the street, i was going to do the same thing because they make the m now to run with the modren injectors but its so costly i could not do it so heres a pic of the motor look real closethere not real, but look real, just couldnt build a gasser without them, people come up to me all the time and ask howi run it on the street, then they have to look two or three times before realizing what it is LOL when i get the hood done they wont know at all LOL that bike cool Dave, nice rail gramps

Wow, that's one of those covers eh? I had seen those advertised and wondered if they really would cut it. You really do have to look hard.
Here is the intake I want to run in my studebaker when the time comes.

My friend has a very similar setup on his Kookie T Bucket. That car is running a 1953 Olds engine with 4 stromberg 97's. Works fine on the street. I mean, you wouldn't want to be tuning it for a daily driver, but for hot rod use, it is just fine.
