The best place to launch is Elsinore West marina located in the North West part of the lake on Riverside. But, they charge by the head after 2 people - which is why it is nice to launch there. VEry wide and decent docks. Watch out for the old farts in the golf carts - they are just waiting to lecture you about something. No real beach to hang out on. This is the only place I launch.
The 2nd best is Cranes. Very narrow and no dock, but they are very mellow. Is on the West side. No charge per head. Nice beach to hang out on.
There is always the public ramp, and it is probably fine, but that is where all the jack-offs and morons go. Ramp is a tad steep, but the ramp is grooved for good traction. Beach is ok, but shallow. No per head charge. Get off at Main off of the 15 and follow the signs to the "Boat Ramp." Also, water is rough on that side of the lake in the afternoon, so if you have your boat parked, you need to anchor nose out.
Once you get on the lake, a nice place to hang is Coors Light Cove located on the south side of the lake. It is hard to see when driving by in the counter clockwise direction as you have to look back to see the cove. There is a small section as your enter the cove on the right that has great sand, but is usually fills up quick there. The rest is dirt and mud, but still decent. The cove is very protected and there are usually quite a few people hanging out.

Elsinore West at their ramp x2. This is the quietest ramp there is there.
Pay the money and avoid the morons. :rollside:
