I have it mocked up on the front of the engine cause I did not feel like rolling my run in stand around. I was able to weld the bushings on the back of the bracket and mock up the coil. Now I just have to do a final polish and get some stainless socket head cap screws and then counter sink them in. Anyone know where to get 7/16-14 stainless socket head cap screws. I tried McMaster carr and they do not have what I need in stainless.
Thanks.

I have actually found that Home Depot and Lowes carry a good selection of stainless fasteners. I also bought fine thread nylock SS nuts at one of the local hardware stores. They ordered a box of 20 for me, and gave me the box price. Here are a couple to try as well.

That set-up looks real nice. I thought about doing the same set-up but that coil is for short duration applications only (ie drag racing). Do you think it will cause a problem?

Just to note, McMaster-Carr does have 7/16"-14 stainless capscrews from 3/4" to 4" in legnth
Just as an example the 2" long is part #92196A677 or go to page 2965 on their website www.mcmaster.com

The holes in either my aluminum or steel BBC heads are 3/8x16.

My heads have 7/16 holes in them. What year are your heads? Mine are 1968....

We run those coils on out street cars and never have a problem. I have nevr heard of a drag racing only coil.

Yup, you are both correct in a way. The pass side front of the head is 7/16 and the driver side front of the head is 3/8-16. Check it out and you will see what I mean. So this means the driver side rear head is 7/16 and the pass side rear head is 3/8.

That material isn't thick enough to "counter bore" for allen cap screws. Don't you mean "flat head allens", the type that you "counter sink" flush (usually 82*) ???.........If you order "cap screws" you'll be disappointed...........MP

Money,
The spacers I machined on the back of the bracket are tig welded to the back of my plate, so this will allow me to run the cap screws. I will post pics when I do this.

Couldn't tell from the pics. So the counterbores will extend into the standoffs. You might consider the flat heads, especially polished stainless, flush....MP

Heck, some polished button heads would look nice too. Would not even have to counter bore / sink either.
