look at the weather reports. About 80 and nice all week until Friday when there is a chance for showers and an expected high of 59 :(.
I am taking the bike and was planning on riding around and going over to Reno for the bike rally along with Cencal. I hope the weather/temp improves for next week or it won't be much fun. I guess I will have to hang in the casinos and drink my way out of the depression
:)

Either way, it doesn't suck....hope you get good weather, though.
One of the coldest times I remember, was on a bike. Tried to make myself small by laying on the tank of a crotch rocket (Katana), and had to pry my hands off the bars when I got home.

My wife and I are headed up to Tahoe also....have a comped jacuzzi suite at the Mont Bleu (formery Ceasar's). We're going to head over to Carnelian Bay for the Antique and Classic Boat Society's boat show at the Sierra Boat Co.
Most of the boats will be the classic wooded Chris Crafts and Riva's.

If you have any plans to drink yourself out of a depression in Reno... you will definitely have company. Problem is, it is like Hotel California.... you can check out any time you like, but you can never leave.
Reno is where lounge lizards go to die. I have never been to a more overtly depressing city in my life.

If your going to end up on 50, see if 5 goes through Stockton which I think it does. In Stockton there is a road that will take you to Hwy 49. It cuts off about an hour of ride time and bypasses Sacramento. The ride though there is great lots of rolling hills, trees and just good ol country. If your interested in that route I can fine out the road name.
There are alot of nice Bar/ Hotels on the way

Hey now!! It's not that bad. Downtown sucks and our city council can't get their heads out of their a$$es and keep taxing everyone to poverty. That is why as a local I live in the county and out of town in the country and try not to go downtown too often. The only reason I really ever go downtown is to see a movie, street vibrations, hot august nights or some other events that go on.

Now I really want to take this route :)
Ok, When your just out of Stockton there is a road called Waterloo. Take a right heading east. This is hwy88/hwy12. You will travel this for awhile. Then the road will split with hwy12 going straight and 88 going left. Stay on 88. Say on 88 till you come to 124 on the left, take left and 124 will take you through a town called IONE. Make sure you stay on 124 while going through town 124 will turn to the right by a gas station. 124 will "T" into 16 turn right.
16 will take you through Plymouth, continue on to the town of El Dorado. You will come to another "T", Across the street there will be a bar called POOR REDS, You have to go in there and get a gold Cadillac. This place is World Famous hole in the wall. From there Go east to forni rd go left. It will take you to Missori Flat rd go left. Take right on the freeway, Your on 50.
Sounds like alot but it's not. Take a map As always if you end up en Jackson on accident the it just makes it a nicer ride.
Have fun and be safe. Any questions let me know.
Bill

Channel 3 out of Sacto says morning lows in the Tahoe/Truckee area late this week will be in the high 30's.
It actually sprinkled a little this morning here in the foothills, but that is probably my fault, I washed the bug yesterday.
Just take your cold weather gear to be safe, and be off the bike from midnite til 0900 and ya should be okay.

We got some sprinkles up on the Mountain too, love the smell of the pines in the yard right after a summer rain. :)
