I used to own a '72 Long Deck. It is now owned by Matt out in Cave Creek, AZ - I think he goes Ex PSI Canyon?? here on the boards. It has a Dick Vale paint job with a blown 383 sitting on a new trailer - I sold it(traded it) less motor. It is unique as I CUT the deck forward. And before you lay into me, I didn't know what I didn't know. Luckily, the work done was pretty nice. I called it a modified Long Deck. I loved that boat and I will buy it back from Matt some day. I put a balsa floor in it (laminated on top). Had the bottom blue printed, although I heard it still porpoised. That boat was fun to drive in the rough stuff...they are tanks!!!
The Canyon Lake I live in is in So. California near Lake Elsinore. Infact, Canyon Lake Drains into Elsinore. It is a tiny private lake, but it is like no other community around (atlease in CA).

Those fuel tanks also held 30 gallons......each!!! Not quite the floating gas tanks of the Marathon days.
Hmmm..looks like I am pushing on the cav peddle with my toes. :D

Ok,I have talked to Matt.MY friend Eddie of Eddie's Inboard & Marine here in Tucson had also seen the boat.I have a 18' Shortdeck and a 20' Stepdeck that needs to be rigged and a motor.I bought it from Eddie without engine. He likes to keep every FE he can get his hands on.
