What are the weights of the 3 different flywheels that chrysler used for the late 60's 440?
130 tooth?
143 tooth?
172 tooth?
Thanks

www.Moparchat.com (http://www.Moparchat.com)I tried the last one but didn't get anywhere. I have an aluminum one now but I do not like the direct drive starter. Expensive and unreliable. I remember talking to Tom Bentley about it and he knew of someone to convert my starter, or build one, that would be a gear reduction one.

Is there any reason that one like this from Powermaster wouldn't work?

$200 at SummitRacingJust one. All the gear reduction units were made for the small flywheels. I already called quite a few different manufacturers and they said there wasn't enough demand for my setup. MIne is like the 66'-69' hemi's. Most of them had the large flywheel with the direct drive starter.

KF,
I was afraid you'd say this,
"MIne is like the 66'-69' hemi's."
I picked up what is probably the same bellhousing lately. I know the starter for that wouldn't be cheap, couple hundred $.
Try that Q&A board on www.moparts.com (http://www.moparts.com) , it is the best on the internet. You may have to do a "bttt" (back-to-the-top) a couple times but you'll get an answer.
The title is important too. Mention some thing about "Tech Question- Hemi Flywheels & Starter???"

I went and looked at the post. I see someone said that mallory makes a starter for the larger flywheel. I'm checking for that right now.
