Nana - lucky you. How's the line-up looking this year? Any new racers or the same core group? Pics would be killer if it's not too much of a pain in the arse. Sleek - who didn't make the show? That sucks to hear especially if it's the big guys. BC/BRA - bite me ya fockers!!! :crossx: You guys going out this weekend?? I'll be on the water by 6pm today through 6pm Sunday. C'mon!

He doesn't take the boat out. It's a trailer queen. That would require not working and having a little fun, and we know MO always has to put his plans on hold...

alright enough outta you silly maggots. In my BOAT ya fockers. I don't even own a damn raft. Trailer queen my ass. So it's not a shatload, but we've put 58 fun fuggin hrs on her this season. Trying to keep the hours low so I can get the most $$ out of BRA when he buys it from me in April '07. :p A boat that actually runs would be good for you BRA....but that'd require you to work more. So get your ass to closing deals so you don't have to keep idling around the lake!!! The no-wake zones end at the bouys ya know. DAVEO - you know better'n that. Just A LOT of things going on with us this season. Thank gaud we live so close to the Sac river for quick day trips.
So with that, bite me.....I'll be on the water in just about 6 hrs and you'll be wishing you were. HAHA & happy Friday you screwballs!! :D :D :D

Cool pics, thanks...
Nice to see the AF is giving that old war horse F-4 one more tour before they turn it into a drone and blow it out of the sky over the gulf of Mexico...
The first year I went to Reno, the Nevada Air National Guard was still operating F-4's out of Reno. I sat on the wing of the Viking and watched them come and go for a couple hours. It was pretty cool.

Looks like the year of the Sea Fury from the standings... only two hot water birds, and they didn't finish... which is really odd considering who one of them is (Tiger)...

Yeah, it was the year of the radial!!
Strega sucked a Valve on Saturday, they had it in the air again for Sunday, but had to pull out for a DNF.
Another missed plane was the Rare Bear, a crowd favorite every year, she melted a piston in a bad way during qualifying....
Voodoo and Dago Red were both out for mechanical failure too, but I don't know specifics.

I have a question now. When a engine failure like above happens, do they field fix ;disassemble the affected parts or transport the entire plane?
Sounds very costly-and I thought boat upkeep was pricy?

Spare engine.... The teams (especially the guys running Merlins) have at least two engines. The full on "race" engine, as well as a milder "ferry" engine that they install to fly the airplane to and from the races.
Tiger has probably one of the best set ups, I wouldn't be suprised if he doesn't have several race engines handy.
There is absolutely "0" money in this sport. These guys race for the competition and the love of what they do.

Seems like there for a while, all these ex-MX guys were saddling up in Reno...

I remember when it was called "Voodoo Chile" (after the Hendrix song)... Everyone kept calling it "Voodoo Chilli"... the owner got pissed, and the next year it was just plain "Voodoo"... :D

Let's just be sure and get Lisa on board. Hope you have a good week. I'm out of here tomorrow to hit Vegas for an audition. Hope I don't blow it this time. Talk to you after we get back...

Does anyone know if Terry Bland sold Dago Red? I know he was looking to a couple of years ago. We used to take advantage of the "friend of a friend" invite and hang out there with their crew (being utards and all) and had a riot.
He kept it in St George for the most part, if i remember correctly.

All in fun BRA....all in fun. Pretty sure we're outta town that weekend. If not, may try to make a day run to hook up with the crew out there.

Thanks for the pics Nana & Ciggie. Damn I gotta get back up there next year. So fun to hear real horsepower and amazing speed. Amazing that the Fury's stole the show....used to be owned by others that seem to have a hard time making it each year nowadays. It's on the calendar...we'll be there in '07. I heard the military demos were great this year too.
Thanks again....looks like you had some serious hardware to check out.

Some lucky military pilots got to show what the F-15 Eagle and F-18 Super Hornet are capable of. They both did high speed flybys at just under the sound barrier, you didn't even hear a whisper till they were right in front of you, then a sudden deafening roar. Power of those machines was awesome. Nice to see so many old warbirds still flying
