Anyone know of any cat models that are setup/sized to be powered by twin small block Chevys? Anything in the 24-28' range?

I'm sure a 27 Cougar MTR can be set up with twin SB's.

Yes, there was a 28 Daytona LP (owned by Mr Pyle) that was featured in ***boat Magazine with twin 6.2's with Whipples, which later became 383s or 403s with 3.3L Whipples--boat ran over 130mph. To this day, its one of my favorite boats yet--grey tribal design. I recently saw some pics on here of it also--I'll look for them.

I remember seeing a 28 Daytona LP with twin Whippled SBC's and it was called "Cat and Mice". Cool name and boat! Awhile back there was a 26' Daytona for sale with twin SBC's. I like the idea of twins on some of the smaller cats. :skull:

A 26'er would be perfect for the water I run on.
Cat and Mice....that is a great name!

The 26' Daytona used to belong to Uncle Toys over on OSO.. The boat was for sale at Eliminator last year, had twin 6.2's I believe. At one time they had whipples on it but it was nothing but problems from my understanding.

Stolarz sold warlock, the name and all the molds, these boats were well after the warlock line...so I'm guessing Warrior Performance Marine?

Get over it dork. Worry about something more important like your height. :D

WPM is short for Warlock Performance Marine. WPM is most popular for their hydraulic steering and other components. Tom Stolarz owns WPM and also builds some boats that he calls Warrior Powercats. I own a 23' WPM and go through this all the time. Personally I believe it is just easier to call it a Warlock and be done with it! However I doubt any Warlock hull can touch a Warrior hull in terms of speed and performance.

Cat and Mice was Pyles boat in HB.
From what I rember, UT's 26 had issues relating to the installation of the whipples, either fuel pressure or water pressure or both, but if all is dialed in now no big deal- it was an open bow if that's your thing

I know there is a 29 Force and a 29 Carrera Open Bow both with twin 377 black scorps for sale. The Orion 27 cat will fit twin small blacks, but not biggy blocks.

True on both accounts. From the outdrives perspective, for sure a SBC is a kinder and gentler way to put 500hp to the water

500 hp in a BBC and an XR drive seem to get along pretty well from what I have seen. Seems that the HP525 & HP500 don't create too many drive issues.
now 700 + hp and the corresponding torque with an XR drive is like a ticking timebomb... :rollside: :rollside:

Whats up guys?
I had the 28LP with twin SBC.
We ended up with 406 in Whipple 3.3 that made over 800hp each. I sold the boat to a guy in Seattle and he upped the boost and ran 149mph on the in dash GPS. :crossx:
If I did a twin I would do SBC in a heart beat. They made huge TQ on the bottom end but wasn't too much for the drives. I never had a drive problem, well except for when they got ripped off .
The boats advantage was the power to weight ratio. I would spank guys with way more BBC power all day long, PIGS :p

Pyle

What are you running now?

I am getting ready to build a boat for next spring. I am going 25-27ft single cat. I am starting a new business and can't afford a larger boat with twins like I want. Plus I had a hard time selling my last boat and I don't want to be in that possition again. I ended up only getting $120k out of my last boat, the thing was worth way more.
Once you have twins you will never go back. I have a few buddy's that had teh same boat but with single big power and my boat handled way better and teh ride was much smoother. PLus I never had to get towed. I only broke down once but it was nice to get back on my own power.

Yep, sure did- got a new DCB Mach 26 earlier this year. Ordered in Jan and took delivery in March. I couldn't be happier. I do still use the Malibu around Phx lakes--definitely obsessed with "wake surfing" now...always something fun to do. Look forward to seeing you out there sometime.

Dont know about the latter, but the first two run really slow :yuk:

Roln,
That is pretty sweet! I love the graphics. The Mach 26 is one of my favorite boats.
Hopefully by spring I will be in a boat.
See you out there!
