I think $3,500 is cheap for a turn-key boat. :)

FYI if that motor is a 65-70 ish factory tripower 389 its wroth more then 3500...( asuuming that every thing is in good working order...)
I'm going to take a guess that it has nicson logs with elbows... They are not the best flowing parts, still for logs they are not too bad. ( rewarder makes pipes for both the earily "D port" heads as well as the latter ram air IV style heads) 375-400 range would be np. One thing to watch out for is even with the large 72 cc heads you comp ratio with flat tops will still be about 10:1 so ether get dishers or start cuting your fuel will race gas.

That's a cool boat! I dig the old Poncho's. Had a few GTO's back in the late 70's.
A 400 with a 455 crank (resized mains) are the hot ticket for that boat to me.

Beisemeyer34 has the nicest Cole TR2 I have ever seen with a Poncho, full roller, Ram Air 421 (421 crank in a 455 block) with Mickey Thompson goodies gallor. And, he wants to sell it cheap! Boat came from Calif with a blown motor deal, he raised compression and put on a pro stock dual four and Ram heads. Boat has been in the water and out of his shop once in six years! Nice, nice, nice.......PM him

Might Be Gettin A Boat In The Am..do They Make A Tunnel Ram That Will Fit 3 Duces??

the only thunnel rams I have ever seen for a pontiac are sheet metal...offy and nicson made 6 pack and even 4 2 barrel mans.. they are just very rare and cost $$$$$. (Offy and edl make 2 4 barrel mans that you can pick up for about 300- 400 new). For that matter a stock set up that is complet and in "usable" condition got for 1000-1500 on ebay about every other month or so...
If you do buy it make sure to ask what pistons he used. So you can figure out what your compression is. Back when there was good gas 10.5-12.5 to 1 came from the factory on pontiacs.

I have a Wenzler tunnel ram off of my old super comp car. Might still have the 600 long bowls to match. This tunnel ram has a removable top and I have made a tri power top for them in the past. Call my father, Ken Crocie, owner of famed H-O Racing Specialties. He has all kinds of stuff for you. He may even have a set of ported 74SD heads that have been milled to 92cc to solve your comp ratio problem,if you have one. He still builds about 4-5 poncho engines a year. BTW he just finished a 303 short deck Ram Air 5 for a 69 T/A,way cool. 909-980-1451
