Whats around Klamath Falls for flats? Any special rules? Cops, etc? Thinking of making a trip up there.
Thanks

All I remember about K-falls is that the mosquitos are the size of seagulls and twice as mean. eek!

Have a friend that lives there. If I make the trip I would like to take the boat.

Klamath lake is the worst body of water on Oregon to boat on, leave the boat at home, it will take you a week to get the slime off

Nothing very close,
Howard prarie is the good and Emigrant lake, we raced on a couple of times and I think it's ok, but they are both closer to Ashland than K-falls

Got the 411 from a friend that has a house on the lake and he said the lake is partrolled by the sheriffs department with real fast boats 60-80 mph boats pretty fast as far as they go. As long as you stay clear of the people with houses on the shore line and don't get too crazy raising hell you should be o.k. Also make sure you have all of your safty equiptment along with the proper documentation. lots of algy on the lake at times to. Hope this helps have fun!

Uh, It's not slime we have in the lake... it's algae
Still take you a week to get it off though
Upper Klamath isn't bad other than the algae. Calm in the mornings and often in the afternoons. There is an "open" section of the lake that has no restrictions of any kind. If you wanted to test a unlimited class hydro at 200+ mph it's legal. Lots of shallower spots, it only averages 7' deep. Can't say much else about it since my kindsvater is still in the same condition it was 2 months ago, under destruction.
Most of the people I know with recreational boats go to Howards Prarie or Emmigrant as camping weekends.
If you do come up I expect to have the chance to buy you a beer right?
