I need a little help in deciding which component speakers to replace the ones I have in the superduty. I have it narrowed down to the Focal 165KP or the Diamond Audio S600S or is there anything else I should look at while staying in my budget of $500-$600.

JBL C608GTI (http://www.jbl.com/car/products/product_detail.aspx?prod=C608GTI&cat=GTI&ser=GTI)
Cerwin Vega V-Max (http://cerwinvega.com/products/mobileaudio/index.html)
Polk Audio (http://www.polkaudio.com/caraudio/products/speakers/6-1-2/)
I like the specs on the Diamonds and read a few good reviews on them.
It seems that the majority of Diamond owners are happy with them. Same goes for the Focals.
I haven't had any real world exp with either of them but I have had quite a bit with JBL & Vega.

i would say the focal 165k2p are gonna be a little more well rounded
both will be a waste if you dont have a nice amp high end like the dia d9 or alpine pdx

I was going with the JL's, should I go with the Alpine's instead?

I have the Utopia's and the 165 k2p's in my boat. I toasted a set of the k2p's and replaced them with the Diamonds s600's last year. I really can't say any bad about them but niether set sounds anything like the Utopia's. The only reason I put a set of the Diamonds in was because I couldn't find a set of the k2p's on short notice. I still used the Focal tn52 tweeters though, they are sweet. You can buy those Diamonds for about 329 a pair here.

So have you used the new PDX amps? I am looking at them myself....what about the Alpine X series subs?

I have the JBL C608GTi's in my boat. Pretty awesome speakers. Very detailed & accurate highs that are not harsh. Strong, accurate, and punchy midbass. And very high power handling at 150 watts RMS. I'm giving mine 170 watts each and they don't break a sweat.
