It doesn't burn up...it just floats away. I believe. Those are made by a whole different company.

They blow off part of the aft exit cone with linear charges (I've actually installed a few of them myself) to help keep too much water from going into the empty booster cases.

Those are both way cool videos.
Amazing technology we have.
We can even track every cow on the planet.
But can't seem to figure out how to build a fence on our borders. :)

Hey Lewiville... How did you or where do you find more links. I was trying to find some more to watch with my son last night but kept getting links to companies selling videos.

Do you work for Morton Thiokol, or what was once Morton Thiokol which is now Alliant Techsystems or should I say ATK Launch Systems?

Learjet used to be a subcontractor for the section of the main fuel tank that connected the H2 tank section to the LOX tank section. That was back in the '90's, we got out of it back arround Y2K, dunno why tho (personal opinion says idiot upper management/CEO), I understood it to have been a lucrative contract, not hugely, but solid.
There were some BIG machinings there (big for a private jet manufacturer anyhow). I didn't work in the dept, but my work took me thru and near there a few times.
