I fliped on the TV this sunday and looked for the Rams game. It did not start till 1, so I will surfing for what other games I want to watch.
I noticed the HD channels not working. So I called Direct TV. After 30 min talkin to techs, the transfer me to a senior tech, and she tells me I need to order the Superfan package to get the NFL games in HD! I flipped out. I pay for the NFL package, and pay a fee every month for the HD channels. With those two fees, I would expect to get the games in HD. Nope. I need to order Superfan for another $100.
She told me its expensive to brodcast in HD, that is why I need to pay for the superfan package to get the HD game. I told her I am paying a fee for HD. And on top of that not all games are in HD.
I think DTV wanting another 100 bucks is over the top if already paying for HD and NFL. Heck, that what I am paying for and not getting it. I understand paying the superfan package if I want the interactive NFL chanels, but not the games.
What do you think??
I know what some are gonna say, just pay up. But I think the point is that Direct TV is double charging. I dont think its right.

You are absolutely correct and I was faced with the same issue a few weeks back. But the unfortunate part is they got us by the balls. They know the demand is there and it is a way for them to phuck us over.

Did you pay for superfan?
I sent them an email. They are gonna have an account specialist contact me.
I stated in my email, " I would be very suprised if there have not been many complaints regarding this issue".
Send them an email.

If you dont like it, then dont pay for it. I pay for the NFL package and Superfan just to watch my RAMS play in HD. It is worth it, but does suck because not everygame is in HD, I believe it is 9 a week.
Just think, you would spend WAY more if you went to the bar with your buddies, that is how I justify it to myself and wife.

I feel your pain...I went through the same thing. The first week I didn't realize the HD games were part of the 1st week free preview with the Superfan. This past weekend NO HD games. Same thing...I called and got the same story. I would have expected to with the Sunday Ticket and the HD package, they would be included.
Just flat sucks!!

Superfan is worth the additional money. The red zone and game mix is great.

This is exactly the same justifiacation that I used!
Go to bar, drink 5-6 (more) beers at $3.50 per. Throw in a $10 lunch. Now, I'm having fun and decide to stay for the late games...another $25 spent. And, I've blown an entire Sunday.
$55 x 18 weeks = $990 plus lost productivity around house which means pissed off wife which means no post game lovin'
Put out the extra $100...it's worth it :rollside:
