.......traffic conditions will be like tonight around 11:00 pm on the 15 and 40? I usually swear by 10 but I want to try a new route. I try to avoid the 15 as much as possible but do you think it will be bad tonight? I've also heard it is a shorter route mileage wise then say the 10 through Desert Center. Thanks.
Eric

The construction on the 15 will slow you down  take the 10 and give it a try

11 pm is hit or miss. Probably will be okay. Usually during the summer I will just default to the 10. Now that it is not as busy then you can probably hit the 15 to the 40 just fine.
Also for what it's worth. From my driveway in Chino to my driveway in Havasu is the exact same miles (within 10ths of a mile) going 15/40 or going 10/rice road. Assuming there is no traffic then 15/40 can be about 10-15 minutes faster as you don't have to drive slow through Parker.

At 11pm, there will be no traffic on the 15. The 40 is always easy going on the way out to Havasu (as long as some jackass doesnt flip).

Thanks for the help everyone. I think I'll try the 15. I did a Mapquest from my house to the Havasu house and it says It's 320 miles from the 10 through Desert Center. I also ran it from the 15 to 40 and it said 289 miles. It's worth a shot.

Screw the 10 AND the 40 ! I always take the 62 up thru 29 Palms and out Amboy Hwy. The road is always wide open and there's only one CHiPpie around for miles. You can either keep going thru Goffs, which I don't care for, or just get on the 40 at where Amboy hwy crosses it at Mtn Springs, which is only about 20 miles out of Needles. For me this is the easiest quickest route to the river.

How is this route if you are pulling the boat. How are the road conditions?

Do not tow your boat this route. IMHO.

The original eastbound 40 is shutdown in parts for bridge repair, making east/west a one lane highway in a couple of sections now. That will definately add extra minutes to the trip.
