I think the important questions are, 1: Are the titles clear and do we have pink slips for both? 2: Are the tags current?

Trailer has PTI (permanent) tags so in that sense, it is current (never expires). The hull hasn't been registered in a few years.

I love the old shovel's, but it is a little steep at $2K.
Quick question......does the placement of the v-drive dictate a river boat vs. a drag boat. For instance, the v-drive in this shovel is near the middle of the cockpit whereas in a lot of the flats and 1/4 mile hydros, the v-drive is up past the front seats. I would think the further forward, the less angle needed for the prop to clear. The less angle, the more the prop is propelling forward instead of up.
Anyone?

I'm no hydro guy but they have the v drive pretty far back. They run a steeper strut angle and the prop is also farther back. That's how they get the tail lift.

Not trying to be a smart ass, But thats not a 76.
76 should have the serial number on the outside right rear of the transom.
And Sanger wasnt making the shovelnose in 76. Just the pickle forks.
If the trailer is included I will bump the bid to $700.00
The title probably says 76 , because that is the year that the boat was finally registered.
I could be way off, but....
This was the case with lots of boats that started as race boats..

Thats what the drive is worth :p That's the only thing I would want from it. I'ed pull it to the fist rest stop on my way home. Yank the v drive and leave the rest.
Good to see others showing some intreset at it would be a shame for that to happen.

Cut it up for firewood...leave it at a rest stop? You guys are killing me, surely a classic boat with a shape this unique is worth saving. Whats so wrong with an old hydro like this, did they handle that bad? I think it looks cool as hell, if I had someplace to put it I'd make an offer.

Keep in mind that if the boat registration is in California and is 5 years over due, it could cost $800 to register it, penalties and past dues. Been there, done the same.

Any thoughts on this??????
