I was looking to put a pressure regulator on my boat and all that I could fine are these ones from Grainger. Is the 263AB the same as the old 6ml11 regulator?

An adjustable pressure bypass valve is the way to go.
From McMaster-Carr's site(I couldn't find one on Grainger's site):
http://www.mcmaster.com/catalog/112/gfx/small/9763kp1s.gifFor Use with Cold Water
Valves have a T-handle for easy pressure adjustment. Pressure setting is held by a locknut. Valves are not factory set to a specific pressure. Max. temp. is 160° F. Standard valves have a brass seal. Ranges 0-50 and 0-300 psi have a Type 302 stainless steel spring; range 300-700 psi has a 17-7 PH stainless steel spring. To Order: Please specify pressure range: 0-50,...
You'd have to run an additional overboard water dump, but this is really the right way to do it.

I run this SC 100 from Rex. No water dump, but good stuff. http://www.rexmar.com/page184.html

Thanks but those are both bypass valves. I'm looking for a pressure regulator.
Q: can a bypass valve be used like a pressure reg. if you ran the water in the bottom and out the top?.

Check out McMaster-Carr (http://www.mcmaster.com/) catalog page 447. There are some nice ones there, but pricey.

The bypass blows off excessive pressure, supplying constant unrestricted pressure to whatever system it supplies. The outlet on the top is the escape for the excessive pressure.

Heatseeker, Thanks, I know how a bypass valve works, I was just wondering if you could use it like a "Presure Regulator" buy going in the bottom of the bypass and coming out the top?. The reason I don't want a Bypass valve is, I don't want the extra holes in my transome.
Does anyone know where I can get a Regulator like the one, I think I saw HBjet and RCB19 has posted about on here before. Grainger doesn't carry them anymore.
Thanks

Ken F, Thanks, you wouldn't happen to have two would you :) . A friend of mine is rigging his boat too.
Suckfish81, is that the lowest it will go? (30lbs) I would like to keep the pressure down to aroun 20lbs. Thanks

the lowest setting is 25 lbs . on my application it works great and mine is set at 25 not 30 i also have no problems with water getting into the motor because of to much pressure and i only have 1 dump from the thermastate houseing out the side of my boat.

This is the the pressure reducing valve that you want. The 3/4 inlet/outlet has the possibility of not flowing enough water.

I can't quite remember how many turns down on the spring I used but it's set between 25-30#'s. Number 10 lines in and out of the motor with a 10 dump. Don't forget to take out the filtering screen on these things or it will clog up with all the river crap.

I've had trouble with that valve clogging the screen and had 2 of them on different boats malfuction and cause overheating problems. I'm going to drill the extra hole and put a pressure popoff instead. Budlight

I'm bringing this one back up to the top because I want to know about flow rate. Reducing pressure is one thing, but does it still flow enough water at lower pressure to keep the engine running cool?
