is any other hbers going to buccaneer days in catalina on the 7th??? i'll be there. has anyone ever gone to it???? what to expect???

i was told it fills up fast......my friends are taking the 38' over on wednesday and staying there all weekend...me and my cousin will be pulling out of newport on saturday morning on the 26' and meeting up with them...i've never been there before so i'm pretty excited http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k265/squirtnmyload/grin.gif

If it fills up the harbor patrol will let you anchor just outside of the regular spots. Then take a water taxi in. But drop your passenger off at the dock first because they charge per person for the water taxi.

I wouldn't see why not. When you anchor make sure you have the proper equipment, such as the correct size anchor for your boat and the correct length chain that attaches to your anchor and at least 200 ft of rope. And make sure you know the proper procedure in anchoring. Just don't drop the anchor and assume it catches. Drop it, then drag it along the bottom until it catches. Because it can get kind of crowded out there and you want to make sure your boat isn't going to drift into a million dollar yacht or worse yet my boat...haha.
Plus again, I would advice to drop as much people off at the dock as you can because it can get expensive if you all ride in the water Taxi, I think it is like $6 a head. Also you can call a taxi on your marine radio to come pick you up if it seems like no one see you. I think it is channel 2.
