I don't own a boat but I'd like to get one next year. My dad had a fishing boat (outboard motor) when I was a kid so I don't have a whole lot of experiance with any other boats. I have ridden in a few jet drive boats lately and that's why I'm here asking questions. I want something that will compare to my big block powered Chevelle on the water.
1. What are the different types of drives and what are the pros and cons?
Outboard, Jet, V, etc?
2. What is a good set up for a family of four but would seat six if I needed?
Lake Elsinor is about 20 minutes from my house.

Lots of opinions can come from that post
Also depends on what kind of boating you want to do, ski, etc..

I want to go fast, be able to carry a family of four comfortably, handle some choppy water, and have a reliable set up.
