OK, what is the trick for posting pics?

So what size, resolution etc. of pictures should I be using to upload. Tried 3.03" x 2.27", 230 pixels per inch with a resolution of 698 pixels wide x 523 pixels high. Server won't let me upload. What next? Thanks.

72 dpi, about 600 wide max, jpg or gif format, not bitmap. Try to keep file size down around 100k or less.
