Just FYI.............this might be better in the spam section. I've seen others who have CP's for sale and this one is the best one I've seen so far for the price. (not that I know anything) Anyway, good luck selling her.

ya know, i remember watching -him- make those 4 passes, and the boat set up was a long way from conservative. it's a beautiful boat, and i'm NOT saying it won't run high 8s, but that thing was seriously out of the water.

What year is the hull and has it actually been on a scale, or is the 300# number an estimate?

Light weight and 300#'s are two different animals. There are alot of 550-600# light weight hulls out there. Im just curious if it really weighs 300#'s. That is really light. Thought my last CP was light, (thin and flexable). In reality it weighed 650#'s. I recentally looked at a gullwing that weighed in @ 500#'s bare and I could lift the back of the hull off the trailer over my head no problem. I was just wondering how many hulls are really that light. Most of the hulls that are composite materials are 400#'s plus. Nice looking boat by the way. That thing is hauling the mail with those numbers.

I believe the lightest CP's are the tunnels which were designed for drag racing, and the lightest of those is in the 285 range If I remember correctly. Also there are only two tunnels that light and they were made back to back.
good luck selling the boat...

The hull weighed 340# when I bought it from Scotten. Since then I removed the carpet, false floor, "flotation" crap from under the deck, and misc other parts........Im sure by now it is 300#, and if its not it is very close. The seats are a single lay-up from Scotten, and no unnecessary weight was added anywhere. When the bottom was blueprinted, 2 of us lifted it off the trailer. Light enough?
As far as the set up, it is very conservative. More shoe was needed, as well as plate adjustments. I have the passes on DVD is anyone is interested.
The motor could use a larger cam and a drysump for a little extra UUUMMMPH!

I know Guthrie's tunnel is in the 285 range. Maybe he is one of the lucky few.

if youre talking about the 19s not the 18s yes there are heavy ones out there for the most part they are sub 450lbs.gmkillers boat is very light its about as light as strictly business, the original owner wanted a race boat so bill layed up a very light 18 not uncommon.

Yes, the CP I had was a 19'. I've talked to Bill a few times about the weight of the 19's and he said for the most part they come in at around 600#-650#. I asked if could have a lighter one layed up but he was'nt too excited about it. Told me the 19' is his family ski model and he dos'nt alter the weight much. I know some of the 18's are lighter, just have not seen a 300# hull. Would like to see this one sometime. Again, nice boat and good luck with the sale.
