My dog and I have been best buddies for some time now. He started to slip away little my little with age. We went as long as we could together. He was there for me and I was there for him. His joy for life became a struggle from eating to just trying to move.
No more pick up truck rides, no boat rides we couldn't be together as much as we wanted to.
Barney, rest in peace my friend thanks for making our life together great

Awwwwwww~! That is sad. I feel bad for you. I dread the day one of our pups passes. We have a puppy and a 12 year old, both Rat Terriors. I want them to live forever.
I hope you recover and then get a new pup!

Well Dog Gone, I hate to hear that you had to put your buddy down. But look on the brighter side of things. He's probably up there in doggy heaven either licking his balls without fear of being yelled at or gnawing on an everlasting Milk Bone treat, and thanking you for the times you had together.

I'm with rude 235. Putting down our 15 year old Golden was the hardest thing I have ever done. Sorry to see any dog owner go through that process. RIP

Bummer, but the depth of feeling with which you express your sense of loss speaks loudly of the quality of life your love gave Barney. I had to put down my former K9 Partner, Rommel, an AKC long-haired German Shepard, about 10 years ago.
His memory is deep in my heart.
Rest in peace, Barney.
It never ceases to inspire and amaze me when I consider the bond that can form between dogs and people. It is simply beautiful.

I am so sorry.... ...We had to put our Rhodesian Ridgeback down last year, just before Thanksgiving.
I want to clone my lab (sonny) he is the best. I"ve noticed this since we have a new puppy (blondie) Silly me I thought all dogs would be like him, and they aren't.
Remember what CT said, he is in Doggy Heaven riding in the boat:D

Sorry to hear about your loss, dogs are mans best friend and they are ours. I'm sure he is a wonderful dog (they are never truly gone) and he'll get to look after my pup-pups when their time comes.
I'm just glad my dogs will have a an 'ol time river buddie to share memories with.
Rest in Peace.

Sorry SB. I know this pain all to well being on dogs 5&6 now. Just remember Barney is looking down on you right now and saying thanks for the wonderful life dude and for not letting me hurt at the end.
Get another one as soon as you are able. Not to replace Barney, no other dog ever will replace those that have passed on. But another with a new a unique personality for you to share life with.
