This has happened to both my boats interior, both have the same style material, but I have not used the same cleaners on both, nor I have I used the same sunscreen on me.
http://www.***boat.com/image_center/data/520/2734wtf.JPG
my old boat just saw Armorall, and the new boat got one dose of Vinyl Sauce, then I switched to DWNG and have not used Armorall on the new boat.
this occurs to both boats only when I have the covers on the boats and they are sitting in the sun (covers are not touching the interior), if I remove the covers and let the Interior sit out in the sun...this damage fades away...only to return if I put the covers back on the boats..and both covers are different material, one is a cheap silver cover, the other is a very nice heavy canvas.
whats the common denominator. or better WTF is causing this

Looks like mold coming from the inside out. When it is in the sun it dies. Try cleaning with some diluted bleach in a inconspicuous area first to see if it helps.

Try some simple green and a scrub brush.

Looks like mold, The boat cover might be trapping water, and it sags until it rests on your seat.

Mold. You need to get out and clean up/Dry your boat after each rain, if you leave it outside.
mold in HAVASU  no not mold, boat sits in open air, it only takes minutes for this to appear after the cover goes on.
I think I found the solution :)

Sorry, it was a long day at the lake, but it does look like a prime case of Herpaghonasyphalis on those seats, at least from the pics I've seen. I'd go with option 3 :D :D :D

I spent most of the weekend wrenching, and then I ran the boat today at Elsiniore in the late afternoon. Was a tiny bit lean, but I think I have that handled.
Yeah, dude needs to get some blood work done and make sure he doesnt pass on anything to the wife....lol

That's what I thought Mold!
My boat is in the garage and that happen. The reason. I washed my upholstery then covered my boat. Couple months later I uncoved it and :jawdrop: :jawdrop: :jawdrop: MOLD!
I don't cover my boat anymore when it's in the garage.

If it not mold, do you think that the spots were there before and they used some vinyl paint to cover it up? After using different products on them, it started taking the paint off?

nope not paint...on the new boat it's clean vinyl.....old boat yes paint
I really think it's just the (tuck & roll) material, I see so many boats like this for sale out here
ok it was driving me nuts :rollside: I checked for mold.........nope not a trace
here is the underside of the same seat, what ever it is, is from the outside and it shows when you look close you can see the vinyl has been eaten away
because it's showing up black, I am betting on some sort of acidic reaction

Karl, couldn't you just put a piece of new vinyl inside as a liner to prevent the bleed through?
