I know some of you are asking, Where in the world have I been. Yes it has been a long time. Doing some research on new boats. I've been seeing a lot of lightning boat advertising and wondering their history and reputation. Can anyone provide some info?
Your input would be much appreciated, also I look foward to getting back on the water and meeting some of you next season   .

Glad you are back and glad you are looking at boats, it can only mean things are going good. I don't know much about them, but every one I have seen has looked real good.

The boat was/is great, we were nice and confi in the Havasu chop and the wife and kids really enjoyed it. I added some stuff to the boat windflaps, new deck, iPod interface, better subwoofer grills and a drive shower, send me your e-mail addy and I will send you the pics of the stuff I did.

i've seen some awesome paint, but it seems every boat builder is a former worker or partner from some other place.

We have a 2004 21XS....502 with a legend jet (we run the lower river)...we love the boat ..great service when we bought it ...great deal on it... painted my design almost identically..and lots fo extra touches...not so great afterwards ...had issues with the service dept. once the warranty was up on installed items ( 1 year) didn't seem to want to even deal with me... craftsmanship on the boat is fine though...broke steering cable and they wouldn't back it up..wanted like $500 bucks and 3 weeks to fix it ..plus the guy was an ass...went to Jim Wilkes and did it for less than half and in 3 days...http://***boat.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=18354&stc=1
the girls out for a cruise ...super handling boat wifey loves it...

With the time and money spent I'm gonna go most economical. I would love to have a deck boat, but the time I'll be on the water does not justify 80 grand. So all I want is to be on the water in a nice and safe boat.

The gauges(Livorsi) are platinum(silver) instead of white and you get he offshore platinum(silver) steering wheel.

What size boat are you looking to get and what is your budget? There is a nice Tremor (http://www2.***boat.com/forums/showthread.php?t=127462) in the spam section with only 50 hours.

This is my 06 23XS. We are happy with ours. We will be getting somthing bigger in the next 2-3 yrs though. We had a wakeboard boat before, so this thing handles chop like a dream compared to the old one.

Wasn't Lightening originally a low end line for Ultra and then sold off to the current owners? I believe they are in Sylmar.

Same motors, same prop?
Could it have been a mag vs. a HO or is the ultra just superior?
