ok, our driver from the airport was named Moses (I like him) he was nice.
There are soooooooo many tree's here:D There are like FORESTS right off of the freeway!! and it's all green turning to red/brown/yellow.
We checked in (cause I KNOW you were worried about us ;)) and went to have drinks in the hotel bar with Shannon our Irish :D bartender....she recomended a resturant named MO's for crab. Jerimiah was going to drive us there :D It was really good food. A small little place and our waitress was from Poland. . .
Jerimiah came to pick up all us drunk irish folk and we went back to our hotels....of COURSE went to the bar to bring Shannon a crab cake and there were NOTHING BUT Batalion Fire Chiefs/or Captains I can't quite remember in the bar:D That was fun, because now I feel REALLY safe:D
So it's 9:23 here I'm not sure if that is CA time or BA time, but I'm gettin sleepy and we get to sleep in tomorrow.....then go to breakfast and the aquarium..
K.
Talk to ya later!

Good Afternoon, It's 2:29 there and 5:31 here.
We had a fun day. Slept in :D Went to breakfast (any meal I don't have to cook is a good one ;))
Then we went down to the aquarium, here in Baltimore. Very cool, (I got my ticket free because this mom bought a ticket for the bus driver and he/she didn't want to go?) The (kinda) bummer was that there was about a million little kids there. I love kids, Scream loves kids, but we left our kids at home  So we walked around and looked at the fishes, sharkes, rays and sea turtles, oh and dophins:D The kids were so excited they just ran from one exibit to another. EVERYONE saw Nemo and Crush the sea turtle.
Saw some pretty cool boats down here (I'll download pics later) The Constallation is here, very pretty boat;) and we saw some sea dragons :D
Then we went to the show and set up our booth. I must say I am impressed with our booth this year. When we first started out, we had a table, a few chairs, we were always fighting for space with our neighbors....we use to make walls out of the turkey boxes..... Now we have this really cool set up with lights:D
We went to lunch at a little deli and then for beer at a pub called "The Wharf Rat" (I got a tee shirt;)) They have the old fashioned beer there that they pump up by hand. It's at 54degrees "The way beer should be drank" according to them. The bar is really old with a tin ceiling (cool)
Everything here is really old. They use marble and granite like we use concrete in CA. It's amazing to walk down the streed and look to see you are walking on marble/granite tile or bricks. Scream says the granit bricks are called cobblestones.
well gotta go now, we are getting dressed up for dinner out :D

Ok, I feel the love now (I was concerned):(
The hotel we are staying at has had like a million movie stars stay here....Johnny Dep MAY have slept in our bed :jawdrop:
I guess they film a BUNCH of movies here, the resturant at the hotel has a movie poster for each film, filmed here and some photos of the stars that have stayed in the hotel....Johnny Dep ;) ........Shirley Mc Clain (sp) Warren Beatty's sister.....Orlando Jones..........James Earl Jones...........Vivica Fox........Harrison Ford.........Ron Howard..........thats all I can think of ;)

Ok, so it's been awhile.............we couldn't log on as everyone in the hotel logs on at the same time and SLAMS the internet :(
so.......to recap..........We went to dinner at Da Mimmo, an Italian place. Very nice, they sent a driver to get us. (we were ALL dressed up.....((that means I wore stockings and high heels )) The dinner was ok/good. The bar had ALL these celebrity photos on the wall. Just about anyone you could think of EXCEPT......Tom Petty
The food was good/ok.
The bathroom was AWESOME:D:D:D
I guess this gal that was married to the cheif, after he died she hung some very NICE photos in the bathroom....I will download them when I get home ;)
(sigh) nice photos:D
So the next day, we wake up for the show and sneak a trashcan out of our hotel...I just walked out the deli....some folks got out of my way, (like I had morning sickness or something ) but no hassels...we needed the trashcan for our booth at the fair.
The show was good....busy which makes the time fly and I'm just wondering if people really know how weird they sound when they as stupid questions and make faces at our product
The Starbucks line was about 1/2 and hour  but I met a nice man who told me his whole life story (people do that to me? )
So.......we take the bus back to the hotel because after 3pm my back really starts to hurt.....get really dressed up (again)
(I have to post this otherwize all my smilies won't show up)
;)

Debbolas
10-06-2006, 05:23 PM
so we go to dinner at this lovely resturant that the cabbie couldn't find....after he stopped and shouted Swahili at every other cab driver he saw (I was kinda scared...he drove badly)
The resturant was named Charleston and it was awesome.....we sat in the wine room and Scream was drooling over all the wine :D
When you have a party as large as ours, the cheif, Cindy Wolf, likes to make dinner for your table....anytime a cheif want's to make dinner for you....take them up on it as it highlights their best tallents :D
We had the BEST food....if I could combine this resturants food the other resturants bathrooms...........you would have the perfect place :D
It started rainning on the way home....our cab smelled like a toliet at the bus station :(
I was very tired this morning

Debbolas
10-06-2006, 05:36 PM
So we go off to the show....the line for starbucks was past the elevators, so I waited in line for 45 minutes for coffee :crossx: Met another nice man who does custom tile moseic (sp) So I asked him about an outdoor BBQ with a skull inlay:D He was here with his wife, and I was here with my husband...it was kinda funny :D
It was very cold and rainy today...our booth was very busy, we demo'ed Turkey Chili and Tortilla Chicken Soup :D YUM!
We were busy, and it was a good day, except for the weirdo who told us he could cure cancer with his sperm....(K! gotta go :yuk: )
Those Bozo's come with the territory in our line of business.....Scream and his brother have a much higher tollerance for them than I do...If he came back, I was going to HIT him with some Turkey Jerky!!! :argue:
So we leave the show, take the bus back to the hotel and go to an Irish pub (cause we are sooo Irish:D)
It was a nice place, good food, good beer. A funny sign over the bar that read "Help Needed........Irish need not apply"
But there was sooooooooo much smoke, it wasn't even funny. :( Living in So Cal,we don't realise how smoke free our lives are

Debbolas
10-06-2006, 05:38 PM
So we ate there and drank there and breathed there....but left JUST before the band went on :(
we smell of smoke so bad.........we had to change our clothes :yuk: I think I will go and bath............
That's about it.....tired.....will write more later
Hopefully tomorrow....or when we get home....depending on the inter-net access :argue:
:D
Deb :rollside:
:clover:
oh, good products at the show include:
Stash Tea :D
some natural soda company that we have traded chili for soda, yum :D they have awesome cream soda and ginger ale, that tastes like ginger:D

Last day of the Food Show :D
It was very slow, we had breakfast at the hotel, so no starbucks line :D
It was rainning......So our plan is to work until 3pm then I go and grab seats at a Irish Pub (we are all about the Irish Pubs now ;)) While Scream and his brother put things away. The show closes at 4pm and we have to wait until 8pm for our crate to be delivered to pack up our stuff. Our booth was right by the front entrance so we think our crate will be first
This is the day to make some good trades so with our popular Turkey Jerky products in hand, I go off to get some tea from a gal I have traded with before who was VERY generous :D

Debbolas
10-11-2006, 01:07 PM
But she wasn't in her booth and I had to trade with some guy who gave me 4 tea bags of the really good Pumpkin spice tea (I wanted a few boxxes) for all my jerky product. I couldn't find my scotch drinking other major tea company who shall remain nameless....so I went back, hanging my head
It was a pretty uneventful day except for the guy who told me that root canals are the "root of all evils" for you body and then asked to use my phone  He was creepy :yuk:
I avoided the cancer curing sperm guy, but he did walk by :yuk:
3:00 I rush out the door (it is rainning cats and dogs) and come back in....take the skywalk over to a bar called "Edgars" for a few beers to wait for the guys. It is a pool bar and I drink beer until they show up. When they do show up they walk right through a pool game and get dirty looks galore :boxed:
We order some really aweful bar food and wait and talk and drink :D
I find a slot machine that doesn't pay off money but it keeps me busy for about 45 minutes...I have a few red bulls and vodka to go with my beers and I am ready to pack the crate!!!!!:D

Debbolas
10-11-2006, 01:12 PM
We walk back, it has stopped rainning and walk through the mayhem that was once the food show....crates everywhere, trash, flowers it is chaos!!! :crossx:
Speaking of crates I have to say that the people with the nicest crates were the Canadians:D They had this beautiful (Scream will back me up on this) crate made of some exotic wood, just lovely...we coveted it :D
So we go back and everyone, I mean everyone in the place has their crate but us...so I start giving the teamsters water and pretty soon Screams brother comes back, he has found our crate and after waiting and dismantling the booth for an hour, it comes, we pack it up and leave for dinner.
I must note that I feel fine at this moment...not a bit queezey.....
So we go to dinner at ...............oh dam, where did we go to dinner...some steakhouse.....they brought out a live lobster to our table and it freaked me out because it kept wiggling around...the bartender poured me a really strong drink and I got sick and had to go home, I couldn't eat anything...and after all that aweful pub food, I really wanted some good steak......It wasn't Ruth Chris....dam I hate getting old

Debbolas
10-11-2006, 01:19 PM
anyway, after the really strong cocktail I am not feeling so good.... :yuk: .very queezy. I decide to just have soup, and eat some of Screams steak (I am not a very big eater, I never finish my food, so this should be good)
Then I start to feel worse....get some $ and grab a cab home. I am sick all night...I'm thinking it was the red bull/vodka combo or the really strong drink at that steak resturant.
I fell better the next day and we head out to visit the harbor.
We find many hot boats there :D
The Constallation is an historic boat, we take a tour. I can't imagine living on a ship in those days, they all pooped off the front of the boat :jawdrop:

Debbolas
10-11-2006, 01:23 PM
We visit a submarine that is dressed like a shark (It has a shark mouth painted on it) and the conditions are very small. I can't imagine being on that ship in a war.....What our brave soliders have done for us is incredible....We walk through and then hit the Coast Guard ship. This is pretty cool...it has huge guns and spacious living quarters:D
I decided I would let my son join the Coast Guard.
We head back to catch a ride from Moses (remember Moses) to the airport. We are all kinda quiet on the ride back, tired, sick etc...so Moses talks for us. I really liked him :D
Get on our plane and we are NOT by the bathroom :D :clover: :D
But the seats are so tiny, we can't move and it is worse for Scream and his brother because they are big men. When they sit down the seat in front of them touches their knees and then the people in front of them recline!!:jawdrop:

Debbolas
10-11-2006, 01:31 PM
We get off the plane after seeing NO hot boat membes :(
and head to the Continental Captain Lounge :D :clover: :D or something like that. It is cool, we get in with Screams brother because he is a member and we get to sit in nice plush seats (cause my back is screaming and we are only halfway through...I don't remember the plane rides being this bad two years ago)
We sit in comfy chairs and I have tea and crackers and cheese while the big guys grab a few brews. There is a game on and we have internet access, but I just don't feel well enough for that (you know I am sick if I don't want to post :D)
Then we head off to dinner at a place called "Bayoo Bobbies" or "Beauford Bajous" or something like that. I saved a to go menu cause the food was so good, they only have them in Texas....
Anyway our waiter looked just like Josh Hartnet :D very cute....The food was awesome...we ate with plastic forks and knives because of the Security in the airport...I felt better:D
We go to another Captains Lounge thingy and wait for our plane. It is nice and soon we need to leave for our flight...This time our seats suck!! :yuk: They are in the back by the toilet and it smells!!!! :yuk: :crossx:

So I get a window seat this time :D
My brother in law sits down to find ice in his seat:jawdrop:
The bathroom smells so bad of the chemical...it really reeks!! :yuk:
So we take off and fly F O R E V E R ...........REALLY it was the longest flight of my life  We had tubulence, smelly toliets, tiny seats...it sucked. I had to wait a few days to write this or it would have all been about how aweful the flight home was. The only cool thing was that we flew over thunderstorms and I could see the lighting flash in the clouds. and it was a full moon, so if you looked right, you could see the moon shinning down on all the clouds. very pretty :D Lots of lighting strikes......very pretty.
We get home ( finally) and get our baggage (have you ever noticed that all luggage at the airport pretty much looks the same? There are 50,000 million black roll on luggage with ribbons)
Back home to our kids and cats and dogs :D
It was a fun trip, but it's good to be home :D

as I was adjusting the airflow to maximum to try to out power the bathroom smell.........I was remembering that the air is just recycled from the plane, no fresh air. How do the "chicks on board" keep from getting sick (I'm too sick to type stewardist)

Oh. I've never heard of that. Must not have been approved here yet. :D
For myself I go by maximum daily dosage for most medications and pretty much ignore the time spacing. If I'm still having symptoms an hour after I take something I take another dose and wait for any sign of improvement ... but that's just me. I'm not a doctor I'd never give medical advice per se. :D
