Custumer just called and asked how many I was making. Apparently he wanted to up the order. Good thing.
Bad thing, don't have enough material.
Anyone have any 1-1/4 square aluminum?
Looks like I am headed to Patton's.

Did the guy buy a bunch of VW bugs or something?:D Maybe a Scirocco. Might as well machine up some Porsche alloys while you're at it :rollside:

Just Google "wink mirror". Here's just one place (http://www.pegasusautoracing.com/group.asp?GroupID=MIRRORWINK). They even sell brackets.... not billet though.

maybe you should list those retail shops on your web site. Case in point, a bunch of hot boaters own sand cars and rhinos. Those same people would prolly rather buy a product made by a fellow ***boater if they knew they had the choice. So if they knew where to go look at your product they could.

Dave, I never thought of that. Good idea. I'll have to ask and make sure it
is cool.
The mirrors aren't the normal arrangement. I am able to sell them if I wanted to.

THANKS Roost,
What a pal.
If someone's looking for a cheap plastic mirror that melts at the river, they know where to get one. If they're looking for a quality mirror, throw up a picture so people can see the difference in quality.

Nice 'SAVE", Roost.
Post up some pics Brian an show the masses just how talented you really are. Maybe some of your billet engine block pics.
Rio
Thanks for the props Rio.
Revive your thread and post up some pics of your tank brackets. I would like to see how the final setup came out.
Here is a shot of the billet Banshee cases I built.

Okay MASTER MACHINIST, gottem new order for you.
I need 2 or 3 bolts. Metric-> M8-1.0-16....left hand thread...
can you have them done tonight?
Rio
If you are serious,
I could, if you have some 8620 laying around.
I have nothing "suitable" laying around to make bolts.
Otherwise, I have 6061, 7075, 1018. Your choice.
Brian

wsuwrhr
10-08-2006, 02:39 PM
So you want to "turn down" some existing bolts and rethread them?
Brian
Brian, could we just burn it out of a couple,3, grade 5 or 8 bolts. If so, I'd bring you the threaded part of the broken bolt to make sure we got it correct. Ya gonna be home after about 2 or 3 tomorrow and I'll drop the stuff off.
Thanks
Michael
ps... was kidding about tonight, anytime next week would be okay.

wsuwrhr
10-08-2006, 02:41 PM
A nut or whatever it threads into would be good too.
Otherwise I'll have to go get my wires.
Brian

Left Hand Metric, I'm not scared, the spindle just turns the opposite way. No big deal.
Are you talking about the nut that goes on the blade?
Don't want to touch it. No way. No how.
Those are available from Makita, Dewalt, maybe even Home Depot.
I'll find one for you.
Brian
DAH ? wires ? Don't know that term. We can just turn down a bigger bolt and rethread them. I just need 2 or 3. Doesn't have to be grade 8 but better than asian crap.
You got the part about lefthand metric?
It goes to a chopsaw. I'll have my brother bring it home tomorrow night so we can put this off til wed or so.
Thanks,
Michael

Let me know what brand/model it is and Ill find you a bolt.

wsuwrhr
10-09-2006, 08:11 PM
I am willing to help anybody with anything, but that is a part that can be had for mere pennies compared to what I can produce it for.
About every single chop saw I have used, owned, or seen has the same style bolt you are asking about.
I am actively looking for one for you and will produce it for you.
Stay tuned sir.
Brian
Brian, I'm talking about a 1 inch long, M8-1.0 lefthand thread bolt (hex head-doesn't matter). Thats all. I have the broken threads of the original bolt and the female shaft that the bolt screws into. No nuts what-so-ever. It's a Chicago, purchased from Harbor freight. The design has been changed and they can not supply part.
Are you gonna be home wed morning? I can bring it by.
Michael
