Classic.
The only problem is that the vette can do it consistantly. The SD is cooking his motor with each run.
Still funny to see. I was talking to the service manager of a local Ford dealer (that has a Force Offshore boat:) ) and he says he took a ride in a guys SD that had some kit on it and was pumping propane. He said the truck was amazing fast!

I was wondering that to. My guess is he used it to tow home his race 43' race trailer. :rollside:

Seen a crazy Dodge diesel at a car show with propane and nitrous oxide. Friggin sick. Propane injection is used to lower intake air temp. Would smoke all 4 tires in 4WD like it was nothin. Over 100ft/lbs of torque.... insanity.

Water/methenol injection is used to cool the egt's and intake but doesnt offer the pop that lpg does. But it depends on your application. water meth is great for power and towing becazuse of the cooling atributes....

Was that a heads up race? Because the Vet was sleeping at the light. Also I wonder if all the torque of a diesel worked better in this race because it was an 1/8 mile track. I would have to think in the 1/4 the Vet would have taken it. :rollside:

I was thinking the same thing. The delay from launch to the "thunk" is the classic something in the bed hitting the tail gate.

I've been told that over fueling, propane, and so on puts additional stress on the motor. Maybe "cooking" is not the correct term, but it's a term I use to define the slow baking of a motor.
I have a Banks Six Gun with the PowerPDA on an 05 6.0 SD. Everyone has made it clear that you shouldn't run the motor on the higher settings as you'll kill the motor. I think the biggest problem is stretching the head bolts and blowing a gasket.
IMHO my truck is a truck and my sports car is a sports car. Trying to get either one to perform like the other is crazy. I have the Banks kit on the truck for the additional HP/torque to pull my TH. Even at that I rarely use it. It's just good to know it's there in case I need it.
