The weather was perfect all weekend. Your boat ramps suck, shallow and crouded as hell.......
You didn't happen to get any pictures of the new Outerlimits on the shore did you?

Our ramps are usually pretty nice but the water has dropped so much, they can keep up. If you get to them early enough, there is usually nobody. They have been bad lately though. They just dont run smoothly like the Havasu ramps. Im not sure why.

I was talking to a park ranger, he said they are having a hard time keeping the water level high enough to keep the turbines at the damn running. It's getting to a crisis point he said. We need some good snow in the Rockies this year or we'll see some serious problems with water supply and energy supply pretty soon he said.
I'm glad I got to see some racing in person, those boats are pretty intimidating when they pass you at a couple of hundred yards. Not as intense as watching top fuel drag boats but still cool as hell.
The setting was perfect, boating during the day, prime rib for dinner every night, and gambling till 4 am two nights in a row. I think I need about a week of sleep to recover.

If I look close enough, I see the top of our boat in one pic and our friends in their F32 heading over to us......nice cameo Hasselhoff's. :rollside: :rollside:
I have a few different pics, being that we were on the water....give me a little while to post them up. All I can say is....great weather...pristine camping conditions....a couple of bad burns (from embers popping :220v: ) and a hell of a bruise on my thigh that I couldn't even try and begin to tell you how I got it, although I 'm sure it involved alcohol. I think we had a great time!!!!!!!!! :)

No kidding that is one of my favorite boats. The one for sale is their 44' Race/Pleasure boat that has the 1500hp Sterlings in it. Must be nice to have two baller boat's one strictly for racing.
I heard that they ran out of gas on lap two, is that why they didn't finish?

Great pics thanks for sharing. I was checking out the Budweiser boat in the parking lot at the Orleans. The one think i find impressive is the way they transport the boats and the way the trailers are built. The trailers are works of art in themselves.

my bro and i helped out both days on his 270 closed bow Hallett. What a great 2 days of racing. 1 st day we were just by turn 2, they were comin right at us. The second day, we were over just past turn 3. both were great places to watch from. they really take the turn around 100 mph says one of the crew from the # 20 reliable cat. front stretch speeds were around 180-200 mph. so he said. not really sure on the #'s.. a lot of great boaters helped out for nothing but a couple of tee shirts. I think the FRONT ROW VIEW was worth the price of gas and drinks :) Will be happy 2 lend my diving/ bro's boat anytime :)

I would be happy to carry whoever or whatever next year for that front row seat.
Put out the request for help a bit earlier next year!

Mimi and I helped out Sat as a rescue boat with divers and med stuff, then on Sun as a "Picket" boat keeping the Yahoos off the course. We were by turn four (the only non-nascar approved right hand turn  ). Great racing and good folks to work with. Stand by on next year :rollside:
