I've gone off on asshole smokers but I've just scratched the surface of stories. Who couldnÂ’t share a whole bunch of asshole smoking behavior stories?
My best friend recently re-started smoking and he seems to feel it's fine to exhale into my face while speaking to me. Welcome to the former friend file, bud. Â…. cause IÂ’m not putting up with that shit. :)
.... but there are some smokers, few as they may be, who are really quite considerate. They watch for the direction of the wind, they exhale before talking directly to your face, they don't light up in your car before asking if it's OK (they'd probably be barrel rolling to the curb by the time the match was lit in my car)
Anyway, there are definitely some highly courteous smokers out there and I wish to say thank you to all of them. You know who you are. OG, youÂ’re in that category.
For those of you who steer your smoke away from the rest of us, it is greatly appreciated. If everyone were that courteous, there would be no heated discussions about smoking.
OK OG, let the spell checking begin. :D
... feel free to point out the incorrect sentence structure, 'cause' instead of 'because', and the low English quality of beginning a sentence with either. I will happily take that over a face full of smoke any day. :D :D :D
Did I mention how I feel spelling correction is the mantra of people with no leg to stand on, argument wise? :D

I don't think so. I enjoy it too much.
How long ago did you quit? What technique did you use? How sick did you get? Was it as hard as you expected?
BTW, congratulations.

I heard the taxes were getting pretty high on pain... that and proposed legislation in Cali would outlaw it in all public areas....
Tom will have to fall back on fear and loathing as exports... pain just doesn't pay like it used to.

Good for you! I quit a year ago October 20th after 25+ years. Haven't had a puff since, and I don't miss it. Keep it up. How did you quit?

Tom, you forgot to mention the good hearted drunk smoker.
He or She is extremely considerate of your non smoking choice and respects your smokeless space. Until the 2nd drink. Then they appreciate your health but care a little less and will walk away while smoking.
After the 4th or 5th drink they are less appreciative. Instead of walking away they just blow the smoke the other way.
When the 8th drink hits they are pissed you are in their smoke space and just dont give a shit. Jealous of the healthy non smoker and the increasing loss of smokers rights it may become dangerous at this point.
By the 10th drink they are usually both inconsiderate AND obnoxious. It's at this point I try and hide all the cigarette's I can find laying around. Its really fun to watch a drunk look for his/her cigarette's. Hopefully there is no where near me that sells them and they go elsewhere.
:rollside: :p :rollside:
Go ahead smokers, flame away. Pardon the pun. :rollside:

My mother had a hell of a sense of humor.
I never heard her laugh,, just a death cough when she thought something funny, with flem flying everywhere.
She'd walk around talking to everyone with a 2 quart K Mart ashtray full of, and overflowing with butts, & a Lucky Strike hanging outta her mouth with two inches of ashes whipping up and down as she talked in her gargly voice.
2 and a half pax a day.
The house stunk, us kids stunk,, the car reeked,, cigarette smoke is one odor you cannot get rid of. Ya lite up in the new leather interior car,, and it smelled of that K mart ashtray on custom wheels for ever.
It cured us kids of ever taking up the habit.
BUTT,, I have no beef with those that smoke.
It makes you look tough. Don't dare raise your voice to a smoker because their might be a fist flying out that next puff of smoke.
A non smoking casino just isn't in the correct mood either. Needs a little gangster vice kinda smoke to go along
Honestly, Cigarette smoke doesn't bother me at all.
After they banned cigarettes in New York,, they went after the fat content in food telling ya what ya can & can't buy at the grocery store and serve and eat restaurants.
Brother,, where do we go next?
Ya don't ban anything for adults, because it never stops.

I really didnt want to quit i just knew i should, this is probably going to sound like BS and i didnt believe in it, but i got hypnotized. It completely erased the wanting and needing of a cigarette,i couldnt believe it i just didnt want one. I did not get sick. Thats the good part.
The bad part was i was really pissed off for no reason for about 3 days and i felt naked leaving the house without a pack and a lighter in my pocket. It has been almost a month now and after smoking for 20 years atleast a pack a day,im starting to feel alot better :)

Sadly I can relate. Childhood memories of mine take me back to a clean but cigarette smelling house. My mom always seemed to have that Kathryn Hepburn hand on her hip look with a cup of coffee and a cigarette in her hand. Until she lost a lung to cancer when I was only 7. She quit after her surgery, but my dad still managed to sneak a smoke every now and then and threatened to kill us if we told my mom what she already knew.
Maybe thats why I hate BOTH cigarettes AND coffee to this day.

Tom I can only assume you'd likely kick these chicks to the curb and promptly add to the non-friends list.

I have a soft spot for those three. As long as they didn't mind me hanging out with them in my plastic bubble, I think it would be fine.

So what's the next thing to get regulated or banned?:
Ya gotta put hub caps on your car because ya can't go around with your nuts showing?
Will it be a gender neutral law?
