Add FWC if ya have a little spare cash. Worth it in the long term. I had a 305 with FWC that was almost 30 years old. Clean as a whistle when I finally repowered to a 350 and it was a mostly salt water boat. Still have to flush of course.

What is FWC?

FWC = Fresh Water Cooling (heat exchanger).
The boat doesn't take near the hit the trailer does. If not alum, I urge you to pull a tail light once in awhile and flush up and back through that. I recently changed some lights for a friend whos Extreme trailer had been dunked a few times. It looked horrible inside the channels and it is a 2003!

FWC, but still need to flush [outdrive, heat exchanger, manifolds. etc.]. It adds the benefit of control of engine temp. which in turn gives a baseline for your performance enhancements. Trailer wil need attention also, as Beer-30 advised.
