I had a 68 Wieman that looked kinda like that. Might be early 60s. Also have never seen a notch out of the top like that.

Looks like a set of AMC wheels.
they have a ford bolt pattern and are a funky size( 14x10) It was not ez trying to find tires to fit. The boat had been sitting 17 years b4 I got it, the tires that were on it( which actaully got me home after I aired them up and filled them with fix a flat) were "JC penny's" name brand, so that tells you how old they were.
heres a pic

Do you guys think the boat in question may have been built as an outboard originally and that big cut out area is where the splashwell used to be?????

Not sure about the outboard, cant seem to picture that boat with an outboard.

Gentlemen,
Is the cut out for the transom adapter familiar? I can only imagen that the one hole above the cut out is for a reverse bucket cable.
Would it be for a Panther, Berkeley, Dominator, Aggressor, American Turbine, Jacuzzi…

The single hole I would say would be bilge pump. The size of the hole would take normal transom adapter and I think all your steering and bucket cables would run out the adapter.

Cant be a Panther, because those are an "insert-style" pump ala the Berkeley JE/JF. I don't believe Dominator would be found in something so old and I know Aggressor would not have been, either. Jacuzzi T/A's were much closer to square. The opening looks like the typical Berkeley JC/JG, and the second pic shows the T/A bolt holes which also be appear to be Berkeley pattern. The white intake also points to Berkeley, rather than Jacuzzi which always seem to be black.
I agree with blown428fe that the single opening in transom was likely the bilge pump outlet.
Did you look at this boat and take the pics? If so, did you investigate the cutout to see if it was original or a later addition?

I have not seen the boat personally.
I am asking for more images of the interior, hope to post them soon.

martan,
I do not own it. I am not letting anyone give it to me.
The thread is to try to identify the boat.
Post script, Martin does nice work and I added an image of your boat.

That's supposed to have been some good times.... :D
Seems like somebody posted a thread a little while back that had a boat with a cut-out like that, with some sort of panel that would cover it up, but was removeable, making access to the driveline easy. The boat was red & black, there were several pics of it, but I'll be damned if I can remember who it was or what kind of boat it was..... And for some reason I thought it was a boat similar to YeLLowBoat's, uh, boat..... :rollside:

Nope, Mopar
You know, I never considered that in a boat, but it does have the Mopar bellhousing shape and the black thing bolted to it is might be a trans not a marine bellhousing. I guess that explains Napabob's "storage" comment.

i have no idea... the only other one I have seen was on hot boat... and he was in canada. I would love to find out. The only thing on the boat that had any info on it at all is the gas tank. It was made by skyline industrys( which of corse no longer in biz.. the plans were sold off to some one else.. I called him and he does not have any info.) the tank was made in 73 so I am guessing its some where around there.

If you find out I'll send you a case of your fav beer. I really have no clue...every thing someone said it "could be" I have done a mic check. none of them were in biz/built a diffrent kind of boat.
I really wish skyline industrys was still open( it is but they are out of the tank market, sold all that stuff off, new owner says he does not have it.) so I could check the custmer number on the gas tank with them.

maybe...with me DMV said it was 22 ft sail boat... they pulled a hin out of there files...they then told me that it scurrently reg in AZ, but at the address I bought in from in Sac CA. So I had to have AZ dot fax over something saying what the boat was...I have spent more time IN dmv then I have in any gov building... and I have over 40 days of jury dutty under my belt.

you know during a recent trip to the dumbMV, I was told I need to get a vin varrication thru the CHP... so I called the CHP... the officer told strait up told me DMV does not know the vehicle code.... he went on to tell me that they are full of shit. I actaully really like this officer. ( I was dealing with the county as well) he told me to tell the county inspector to back off, "use my name, they know who I am. If that does not work talk to his boss, use my name. If that does not work call me and I'll go pay them a vist" This is exactly how all CHP officers should act. He really made a very stressful and bad week much better after he told me that.

Bob, since I haven't seen OldRigger on here in a while, you might want to send him a PM about this thread. If this hull came out of any of the SoCal shops he might remember it. That cut out in the rear appears to be original, a fairly unique feature.

old rigger has made the comment:
“Whoa, never seen anything like that before. Bottom and most of the deck appears to be pure Tahiti/Weiman, (Tahiti make Weiman's hulls, but not Rogers) especially at the transom and the tumble home. Looks like someone splashed it after making some serious changes to a plug, like the big fockin hole in the bustle and taking out the dips in the gunnels.
Sure looks like it came out of a mold like that with all the detail, and the little lip that's there. Be hard, but not impossible, to do that work after the fact. I bet it had some kind of glass engine/drive cover made to match. But you have to wonder...why?
I dunno, your guess is as good as mine, probably better.”
The owner will discard the boat if he can not find someone to salvage it.
