If you use the gen VI cam, thrust plate and timing chain can you run it in a gen IV block?
does the gen VI cam thrust plate match up to the exsisting holes in the front of the gen IV block?
I have a gen IV block that is worn were the timing gear rubs on the front of the block. And I have a new gen VI hyd roller cam and a set of the retro fit hyd roller lifters that I would like to use.
I just thought if the cam retainer plate of the gen VI would bolt up to my block and still have the right cam depth, it would not matter that the front of the block is worn since the Gen VI cam uses the retainer plate for thrust instead of the block face.

Not gonna work.
Even the timing chain gears are different.
I can fix that worn block for you.

Just wondering. Thought it might work, because the small blocks can run either type cam as long as you use the right timing chain for the cam.
