Lo and behold the clouds barely dropped any rain here this morning and its been sunny since....San Diego Co. may have bypassed this early storm.
Good thing I changed my plans to head to Havi tonight....

huge t-storm just rolled over my home in Havasu. The lightning and thunder was off the hook! Wow powerful stuff! Too bright outside still to take photos. Hope to get some later tonight when it gets dark.

I took a direct hit, the bolt hit not 20 ft me and took out the transformer in my back yard. power has been out for about 1-1/2hrs
I have never seen my dog move so fast and yipe so loud :)
that was wild you could feel it build, it got dead silent, my ears began to ring, it almost felt like I was going to faint, then all of a sudden
CRACK!!!
it sounded more like something tearing then it sounded like thunder, that was crazy, I could see the fingers of lighting jetting out across the yard.
I think I just cheated death for the 4th time in my life :2purples:

awesome Karl. we had about three very close bolts over here on the south side of town and the thunder was incredible. Never lost power though. Last year I was so close to a bolt of lightning I actually heard the snap of electrcity before the thunder. That was awesome!

that must be what I heard the ripping of the electricity, too close way to close for comfort, but watching the transformer cook was crazy, DAMN they are bright when they fry

I love that shit. Really gets me going. I'm also very fasinated by it. Dont' ask me I just am. Did you get any photos of that transfomer cooking?

We got "lit up" here in the I.E. last night.... :220v: Hundreds of flashes out over the mountains towards the East....
