I just got back from the lake and I'm disapointed with her performance. Its a full roller 460 Chevy with 2.250 and 1.90 valves. 6-71 big bore 10% over and 14 psi boost at 4400 feet elevation. I;m still hunting for lower gears but with 40's she is topping out at 6100 in the summer heat.My carb calculations say I need at least 850's, and I will be getting some gears that should let me get to 7000 plus. Should I dump the 750 4150's that came with it and go to some thing bigger? Don't dominators have a different mounting flange and require a different manifold? Any places where one can get a deal better than Jegs or Summit?

I ran those 750's on a blown BBC (.030 over) and they worked good. I had 25's in the v-drive. I also had a 6-71 at the time and it was around 12-15% over if I'm remembering right.
That Hulshot guy has some 29's you should try to get. I need to get those 35's back as V-Drive Tom needs them. If you could send them direct to him that would be great. I don't have your address after my last computer crash. Please send it to me again and I'll send you back your gears and the cash I owe ya.
Thanks

Superdave, my address should be on your house email. I'm calling Tom for his address, this morning, mail this aft. Maybe the gears will do the trick, I'm running out of something, but it may not be air. The plugs are not too lean but it just runs out of power. It was 6500 when the air was 45 degrees and 6100 when its 85 to 90. Thought the blower could pull enough air through the 750's. Thanks for your honesty on the gear exchange. Ken
