Is there a recomended torque spec for the timing cover on BBC? I'm Slowly sanding down my thrust button to get .010 end play. Right now i've been tightening the cover down to 20lbs when checking end play.

The book says 75in/lbs but I've never used a torque wrench on a cover ever, I just use a speed handle and snug them up, and the "if in boubt strip it" theory don't apply!.. :D

And that is only about 6 FOOT-POUNDS! 6 pounds on a 12' wrench
A nutdriver works good for "torquing" them. LOL

Yea, what he said. :rollside: :p
