Wesley Snipes has been indicted on federal tax fraud charges.
The IRS says the actor failed to pay 12 million dollars in income taxes—and didn’t file tax returns for six years.
Prosecutors in Florida say Snipes also filed a fraudulent claim for refunds in 1996 and 1997.
The agency accuses Snipes and two others of conspiring in a fraudulent scheme that contended SnipesÂ’ only taxable income was on foreign-based activities, and not the money he made in the U.S.
Each count in the eight-count indictment carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison. The agency says Snipes could also be sentenced to a year in prison on each charge of failing to file returns.
Snipes appeared in the “Blade” movies, as well as in “White Men Can’t Jump” and in “New Jack City.”

It's amazing that someone in a high profile situation would try and cheat on their taxes, or in this case, not file them at all. Kind of like that idiot from Survivor who didn't file on the million he won from the show. I'm sure nobody from the IRS watches that show and expected to see a hefty return filed. Same thing with Mr. Snipes. Just dumb... :notam:

You're right... I confused him with Denzel Washington. The worst Wesley can be accused of is bad judgement regarding his taxes and the IRS. He lost one house to them before, and now it comes out he hasn't filed a return in 6 years and had one of those "you don't legally HAVE to pay the IRS" accountants. This one may hurt......
