We have had 3 inches of rain so far this month. Castle rock cut off just under 5 feet from being passable.

This is so great! I have to say that here in Vegas we've had more rain than normal...and without flooding! And our friends in Colorado say the tributaries have been 90%-95% full for weeks now...nothing but good news...lets keep it coming. Fill up the lakes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :rollside:

T & B, I drove up the gorge yesterday and the Virgin River was not running very full and VERY muddy. We're going to need a lot of rain and snow to get our favorite lakes up 95' and 103' in that order. It took eight years of drought to get to this point, its not going to come back overnight...

Monday the San Juan river was still running pretty good. Hanksville got flooded a week or so ago and now they got a bunch of snow. :)

That Mead thread got me thinking. How is Powell doing?

We were out last weekend. It's down around 3604 and dropping a bit a day now. Outflows are around 10k cfs and inflows are around 8. The good thing is though is the rains in Oct really helped. Saturated the ground and kept the level up. If we can get a decent snowfall this season, it should make for some great lake levels.

awesome news about powell!!
i used to have a site saved as a favorite that listed hourly updates to a number of bodies of water out here. it listed mead, havasu, powell, mojave etc etc. anybody know what that site might be? i seemed to have lost it somehow.

I was wondering how the snowpack is doing in the western rockies? With all that hit Denver I've been curious how much landed on the west side.

The western snowpacks are all above average... and there's another storm on the way in the next few days.
Let's hope this weather pattern keeps it up for a while.

It's really a fairly simple concept. Someone searches for the thread and then they post and it 'magically' appears at the top of the threads.....

This is a good page for tracking snow pack levels and % of average.
Pay attention to the Upper Colorado, Gunnison, Yampa, and San Juan/Dolores drainage numbers. Those are all on the Western slope

Thanks. How is "the cut" doing? Will it be usable this summer?

That's what I'm talking about...........that is where we Co. river boaters need the snow to fall.
