we have about 5 boats goin...anyone else ineterested we are gonn launch early prob out fo newport....8:30 a.m. or so..... :cool:

We'll be in Newport running the Donzi all weekend. Don't think we will make the lunch run on Sunday. We will be at Woody's Friday and Saturday nights witht he boat. Probably do dinner at Villa Nova. Staying at the Balboa Bay Club.
The follwing weekend doing the SCOPE lunch run to Catalina. Hope to run into you! Might see you Sunday morning. Having breakfast at the back bay? Give us a time, we'll meet you there!

How long is the boat ride out to Catalina?....been there on a cruise ship that left Long Beach but dont know how far it is

How long is the boat ride out to Catalina?....been there on a cruise ship that left Long Beach but dont know how far it is
20 miles or so. Depends on who you drive with, You can fly on Jordy's boat (last crew left after the trip, never to be seen again,) or you can travel with a more "grounded" crew. It's 20 minutes or so depending on the seas.

I think we made it back to Long Beach from Catalina in Photoglou's Fountain in a tad less than 14 minutes.:D :crossx:
Other boats may run the same distance a tad bit slower;)

The day I rode with him Bobbits Skater ran with us. That boat is bad to the bone. I kept hoping Jay would say "bye bye Pussy Cat" and hit the sticks!!;) :crossx:

We are planning on going to Catalina but of course if the weather doesn't work out or rough water we will be around the LB area.
Hope to see you out there also. We will be launching out of the Back Bay around 8:30 or so on the 28th

haha...we were hitting about 120mph there in Photosboat...I pounded my drink at that speed...spilled just a little, but I had plenty left.. :crossx:

If I remember: Long Beach to Catalina is ~26 miles.

I will be out this sunday leaving newport harbor, wasn't sure if we were going to cruise the coast or run to catalina, but if everyone's making the island run then we might just have to make the trip!
