I am weighing my options for future motor swaps for my 21 daytona. I am currently rebuilding the evinrude 300 that came with it, does anyone have a 21 with a 225 outboard or a 2.5, just curios of much power these thing need to make them run good. I am looking for 100 evently so that is the goal. The 300 was blown when I bought it so Idont know how it will do with that.
If I found a good deal on a newer motor I might snag it up, but I dont want to buy a 225 or 2.5 and it wont push it like I want it to.
Thanks to all with experience.

I just sold my 21 liberator, pretty much just like a daytona only the liberator weighs alot less (less interior, no stringers, lighter than normal daytona layup)
Any ways i had a 225 marnier super mag(same as promax merc) i ran a 27 pitch ballistic 4 blade prop, forgot the RPM  the most i ever saw out of it was 85mph gps, by myself low on fuel, early summer(cool out) but it was a good all around motor.
My 225 was bone stock also. :)

I had a 97 21 Daytona with a 300 Promax. Call Eric Simon @simon motorsports for any info. He rebuilds 300's to 335hp!

Are you selling the old 300? Ours will give @ some point & I'd like to have a fresh powerhead to bolt up when it does.
