Well went and watched the enduro this pass weekend and Maxipad can make fun of the whackers but they placed like 7 out of the top ten and the overall was a sleekcraft whacker with a stock lowerend unit with no nosecone or low water pickup! I think some of those big blocks are still diving for all there parts! We radared the boats from my friends dock just before badnocks and the fastest boat we saw was the twin turbo schiada at 88mph and the winner with a sleekcraft whacker never went over 78mph from what we saw and he was passing up quite a few "badass" vdrive gn boats! Goodtimes!

I'm sure Max would be all cocky if he had won. Was there any Stokers?
How many boats were there?

Last year the speeds were restricted to 80 mph. Everyone had to have a gps to record there speed and if you went over 80.9 you were penalized. It may have been the same this year.

No this year the only thing that I kicked ass on was our equipment... You guys missed a really good race... The outboards handed asses out left & right... Not one divison 3 boat finished... in fact not 1 v-drive boat finished this year! Nobody crashed or got hurt. Things were overall very cool... There will need to be some adjustments for next year so that Plan B can win again! :crossx: lol U.T. you missed me driving naked biatch!

That's what I was thinking. He must be talking about the Thanksgiving races at Bluewater and the nostalgia GN class, it has an 80mph breakout.

No actual speed restrictions but they have prop shaft height rules depending on bottom style and lower unit used to keep the speeds down and then have a staggered start based on your equipment for 6 different divisions. Division 1 starts first then every 15 minutes the next division starts. The Baker was an ex mod vp boat that ran a stock unit to stay in Division 2 with a 2.5efi merc. Second overall and first division 5 A Stoker that started 45 minutes later (12 laps) and finished 2 laps down. Also a 2.5 merc but with a sportmaster that had to run prop shaft 2 inches below the bottom. 3rd and 4th division 4 boats not sure what the requirements for this were.

From what my friends said up river Jim's Duramax was getting towed in towards the end of the race. Not sure which flatty you were referring too. The mandela came in toward the end with a sparkplug or valve problem, & my buddy john in the sanger broke his V-drive on the output shaft...

Dennis, I talked with Skip today, and last week. They just got the boat in the water running last week, but not even on boost in the water until Thursday. Apparently, they had problems keeping the turbo boots on, and that's what popped on the last lap.
They also said they need more gear - they were running on the governor all day.

I must have missed the last lap deal. It seemed like it needed a bigger gear or wheel.

The duramax needs a lot more gear. It was running 62 mph at a touch over 3000 rpm... He said it gets there in a short burst! Pretty cool deal if you ask me... Anyway after doing the math If we would not have broken the 305 boat we would have finished appox 6 min behind the winning boat so we weren't fast enough anyway... Still an extremly fun race to compete in! I wish more people would give it a whirl! :)

It says very little for the V-drive owners/mechanics, not the V-drive boats! This just shows us that it's "no river cruise", but this race is a real "ass kicker". I salute those who started the race, and I give thanks to the winners for "keeping it a safe race"!!!! To all, a job well done!!!!

is he O.K.? I know that he was complaining about neck/back pain... I was there at the same time as the rescue boat, I towed in BIG RED...
the way he spun on the water (both boat/driver), it looked like a breakdance contest. I hope that everything was o.k. I left right after the race and didn't hear how he made out...
the fishing was horrible, must have been all those noisy v-drives cruising around. that is why I like my fishing boat, outboards are very quiet (and slow)...
I will be up for the Nostalgia races on Thanksgiving, if you see me in a white/teal ALLY, say hi!!!

Joey Cucci has four D'Cucci 16 foot flat bottoms with OMC sterndrives and I made a deal for three Tri Hulls at Apple Valley Marine.
So, in theory we have 7 NEW Division I boats....Do you think there are SEVEN people in this world that would be willing to come to my shop and work on these boats enough to run next year's race???
Or will people like you and me just race the Enduro and joy ourselves???
Why don't we offer to pay someone to drive???
Hey, there are are four sterndrive boats at Apple Valley Marine that could be had for cheap...If I knew and intake valve from a starter....I'd jump on one of these... The three boats I "BOUGHT", one is NOT a Tri Hull, all have Evinrudes....I'll mill the heads, get a plastic tank...put on a better prop, and 65 MPH is possible,,,average 60...Hell, the 007 boat averaged 11 MPH and was second in Division I...
If we can't get volunteers...How much should we pay them???
ADD: Cool old VOLVO on a TRI HULL....Gut that boat, add a little carbon fiber, warm up the small block...I got too much time of my hands!!!!

Well shoot, now you're talking! How could I resist an offer like that?
I doubt Lori's gonna let me drive the race cause of my back, but I wouldn't mind getting some boats ready. Maybe our son would like to run one of them. Where's your shop Ron? I'd kinda like to wrench on one of those tri hulls.
Mind if I bring one of them home to work on instead of driving back and forth to your place. I'll return it when it's done, I promise. :) I'm in Long Beach.
I remember those little D'Cucci boats. Didn't they create a class back in the day just for those boats, something like that? Not being a racer I only heard this stuff from my boss, who was a racer. They had the little omc cobra drives didn't they? Been a while since I seen one of them, but that sounds familiar. Use to see them at his place at the river when we'd go to our place.
these tri hulls look like a blast...except maybe being in number 10.
