Im looking to get some night sights for my Glock 23. Looks like the 2 major well known brands out there are Meprolights and Trijicon....heard good things and bad things bout both of them equally. Anyone have any input?
Also, would the local gun shop be knowledgeable about installing them or should I look into getting an armorer to install them?

Go with the Trijicon.
Any gun shop that's a Glock dealer can install them.

I'm not sure which models they were, but I sure liked shooting the .40 cal. more than the .45 cal. model. Nice weapons.

Probably the g22 .40. It is nice but if you have smaller hands the reach from the backstrap to the triger is a little long. I like the xd better.

if you really need to use sites in the confines of your home at night... you should not be confronting anyone. let the police do that, its what they are payed for.

Trijicon.
Mine have been on my Sig for 7 years and are still as bright as the day I got them. Green and yellow stay lit for 12 years - orange for 5 years.

Turners isn't qualified to do anything but sell product! There are many qualified gunsmiths around. What area are you in?
Trijicon all the way.
Nice. thanks for the pics. just ordered the green front, yellow rears for contrast. I would have prefered the orange rears but the half life was only 5 years. I'll have to see how they look.
PS Im in the Redlands area. Can you suggest/recommend anyone for the install? Thanks in advance.

another thing about night sites. in a dark confied space after the 1st shot you will not be able to see them, if you have a ported gun you will actaully be blind for some time after then 1st shot. firing any gun in a confined place with out ear protection will also make you temporaly deaf.

If it is the small one, it's the G27.

I heard Glock has some you can get thru their factory. Dont know who makes it, but havent heard much good stuff bout them. Biggest complaint was they were burning out within 1 year. :220v:

WHAT??? I CAN'T HEAR YOU BECAUSE OF THE DEAD TWEAKER ON THE FLOOR AND THE RINGING IN MY EARS... :D
You'd be suprised what a little adrenaline will do for your hearing. Now, I haven't ever shot anyone in my house, but I've killed a few animals while hunting, with no ear protection. Never even heard the rifle go off. Not until much later did I start to notice ringing in my ears.

when shooting a supersonic round from a rifle you are inside the "shockwave cone" and don't get the full ear bursting affect. That is why when standing next to an M-16 your ears are hurt more than when firing.
Trijicon! that stuff, tritium , is made right here in the good old USA. Savanah River Site if I'm not mistaken.

Hey Miguel, I have a 27 also with the mag extender for 10+1.
I also have a G19 pre ban that has a +2 extension that gives me 17+1, you seem like a safe guy, we should go shooting sometime.
WOW I just realized that I bought the 19 in 1991.
