Are these props good, bad or ugly. Also,I tried a 12"x15" two blade Hill on my 18'BBC Sanger with 17 over and got 6,800 rpm's.What could I expect with the 11 3/4 x 16 two blade Percision.Thanks.

What rpm is your motor setup to run?? The smaller prop will give you more rpm...It's hard to say if it will work or how well it will work..Again, it might be the prop you need, but if your setup isn't right, the boat will not be able do what it's supposed to do...If ya know what I mean.... wink wink :D wink

That extra inch of blade pitch is almost like adding 10% gear to the v-drive. The 11 3/4 x 16 will load the engine more.

They are great props. Made by the late Tom Black.
If you have a Casale quick change then you are not running 17% over. Maybe 15 or 18

O.k.,the motor is about maxed out.It is set up to run from 6,500 to an occasional 7,000 but not a sustained 7,000.It's a .030 over 454,990 heads,2.25 intake with 1.88 exhaust,294 solid cam.Team G manifold and 850 DP. The gear box is a Hallcraft. The gears had a 17 stamped on them.So when you say "it will load the engine more" you mean it not wind up as much?I'm fairly new at this so please " beer" with me.Thanks

It should drop your RPM a little. If it still is turning more RPM then you want then you will need to do a gear swap. Just so you know, Memkens v drives (V Drive Tom) is still making parts for your Hallcraft box. I'm sure he can get you a higher gear ratio if you need it.

FLATRAT,
My brother has a few two blades for sale, I think one of which is a 11 3/4" x 16 precision. I think he wanted $250 for them. Give him a call at (602) 992-3509 his name is Chad.
