Underground economy/black market labor and services is the next BFD.
Taxes and regulation has not only hit a paradox, it's exceeded it.
Probably Half the white people and most the Asians I know that run businesses pay no taxes, or very little taxes at all.
I get asked to do for cash / no recipt discount work frequently.
It's getting into mid-size business too.
It's all who ya know and working on pure good reputation.
None of the smokers in my circle of friends pays more than a buck for a pack of cigarettes.
If they have a trade, they work under the table.
It's the rage now.

I would question the source(s),
But I am sure at least half of your post is true.

According to the most controversial study of those discussed here, the benefits and costs of immigration to the United States in 1992 add up to a total net cost to all levels of government of $42.5 billion. This study, by Donald Huddle, was sponsored by the Carrying Capacity Network, a nonprofit group that advocates major reductions in immigration to the United States. "The Costs of Immigration" (Huddle 1993) uses estimation procedures that include a variety of errors. When these errors are corrected, the post-1970 immigrants in Huddle's study actually show a surplus of revenues over social service costs of at least $25 billion
Wsuwrhr is right, a good portion of the email is valid...

Because it's not really true?
If you read the whole article I linked, or just the last paragraph I copied, you will see that illegal aliens have contributed $25 billion net to the economy. That'll never be on the news, guaranteed.
It's easier to sell papers and ad space with sensational, slanted news.
The truth isn't as exciting as lying and blowing things out of proportion, I guess.
Why do people hate the truth yet love to repeat damn lies?

You've got to be kidding, right? The liberal media? Not a chance.
I was in downtown Phoenix on Monday and got caught in the middle of a protest by ASU students against our Proposition 300. (Would prevent illegal immigrants from getting "in-state" tuition rates).
The news just talked about the poor kids just trying to better themselves, and they would lose out on higher education.
A US citizen who happens to live in CA or NV has to pay 4 times what someone in the country illegally pays at any AZ University or College. All the while our AZ residents (US Citizens) are subsidizing their Education with our Tax Dollars.
Anyone else see a problem with that?

That study was 1993.
Since then another 14 million illegals have come here. If the same study was done again, I think the figures would be quite different.

College students will protest anything, you know that.
If the illegals are living in AZ do they pay the same rate as a US citizen living in AZ?

Yes.
And they bring their illegal cousins and other relatives from other states, claim they live here, and THEY get in state rates, too.

If a smaller number means a net income, wouldn't it stand to reason that a larger number means a larger net income?
Also, do the underlying characteristics still ring true? i.e. "Except for refugees, immigrants who arrived in the past decade receive public assistance at significantly lower rates than native-born Americans. Moreover, when refugees are excluded, immigrant use of public benefits actually decreased during the 1980s. Welfare use among working-age (15 to 64 years), non-refugee immigrants is very low." Source : http://www.urban.org/publications/305184.html
This data was all based on the 1990 census, it would be interesting to see the same study done with the 2000 census.
I just feel that a lot of folks see brown skin and all their common decency and ability to think rationally goes out the window, and they start sounding like a bunch of KKK members from 1960 Mississippi...

Do they not pay AZ sales tax? Property tax? Income Tax? Car tax?
Not trying to be a contrary jerk, just wondering why, if they pay all the other tax based costs of living in AZ, they aren't entitled to use the public facilities at the same cost as other residents?
Thanks

Sales tax? Yes.
Property Tax? Only if they own property. If they rent, the property owners pay the tax, but there are sometimes 3 or 4 or more families living in the same property. Essentially accounting for only 1/3 to 1/4 or less of potential property tax. (Property taxes goes to the Counties, not the State)
Income Tax? No. They need a social security number for that.
Car tax? Mostly no. When we stop illegals they are usually driving unregistered, uninsured (or stolen) vehicles, and have no or fraudulent, drivers licenses, or are driving on suspended privileges, due to FTAs on tickets they've received. (I can't say all are like that. Only every one I've encountered)

I defer to your experience. Mostly.
On the income tax, if they are working at a business under a fraudulent SSN, the tax is deducted from their check, deposited to the state, and they have no chance of ever reclaiming it, right?
On the property tax, the landlord should be held responsible for renting to illegals, I believe there is a law proposed for this exact purpose here in CA.
It would really suck to invest your life savings in a house for you and your family only to have 25 people move into the same house right next door.
Car tax: when you stop an unlicensed vehicle, you impound it, right? Who gets the cash that process generates?
Again, not trying to be contrary, I'm trying to understand the vehemence.
If it's moral outrage, that's one thing.
If it's racism, let's call it what it really is.

Point being it's easy to say the figures are skewed and not correct but they are probably close. We all know it if you live or have lived in the southwest. My question is how did we get into this situation, and you can't point the finger at one political group or administration. This has taken some time to come to fruition right? Problem is now what do we do and who will do it. Illegals collecting S.S. WTF!!!! Emergency rooms bursting at the seams WTF!! Providing free medical services WTF !!! This crap has got to stop regardless of how it's done and I'll vote for any politician who has the backbone to REALLY bring about and enforce laws to do so. We have become a nation that is TOO concerned about being politically correct to the point of self destruction both finacially and morally!!!!!!!!!
This is the greatest country in the world but unless we become a little more selfish and tell other countries (regardless of who they are) to back the F.O. then we and our children will not survive because there are a lot of destructive forces out there just waiting to wipe us out if we do not remain strong. Sorry for the rant. NSF
