4500#'s isn't all that much weight, about the same as my boat & trailer.
I only put about 25psi in mine before hooking up the trailer. Not sure what it goes up to once I'm hooked up. Mostly, I just think you're suppose to add enough air to stay level.
I'll be waching this thread to see what everyone else dowes as I've often wondered myself.

Balance the load in your trailer so there is about 500 lbs on the tongue (you don't want the tongue too light or too heavy) then inflate the bags until the truck is level.....

First of all, keep at least 10lbs in them at all times so they don't tear. Measure you truck, put the trailer on, then put enough air in them to return in to stock location. Had them for years they are great with heavy trailers, although with 4500 pounds you probably won't sink your truck at all.

When not loaded have at least 10 pounds in. When loaded just air up until your level. 4500 isn't too much weight but my truck is lifted so the boat pulls it down. Goes right back up with the bags. And they haven't leaked yet.

I had a pair on my last truck, yep, keep 10 pound or so in at all times, then up to 80 or so for heavy loads.. I got tired of the rough ride and just bought a one ton 3500 instead.. :skull:

My F350 shakes me like a 10.2 earthquake when driving on most freeeways. I've heard that adding airbags will help reduce the bouncing. Is this true? I'm going to add them to help with towing my 5th wheel and boat, both of which weigh over 13,000 pounds loaded.

Yes. You can air up a bit and stiffen your suspension even when your not towing.
