How much different is a Challenger 18' bottom different from a Southwind 18' ?
Only reason I'm asking is in the Show Your Jets thread, Allot of the southwinds sit higher than mine sits, and I got less interior....
Any ideas?

Should be close to the same. I believe the Challenger is a splash of the Southwind

Yup, there is a big difference in how the boats sit in the water. Mine sits alot higher. I dont think there is that big of a weight difference between the Ford and the Chevy.

You don't think it could be the four boaters inside the boat that is making it appear to sit lower. lol :)

Seriously, if I had that much weight in my boat I would be taking on water through my bilge pump. Two years ago I went water skiing with three other buddies of mine we are all around 170 to 200 pounds. We were getting ready to throw out a ski and I turn around to see the water come in through the bilge pump. I am like WTF I better get on a diet or find some skinner friends. :D

I would think that the bottoms would be very similar. You notice any difference between the two?

I hear that about the skinnier friends.. but all my people were in the front of the boat. I dont have a back seat, yet.... the chick on the bow is maybe 90 lbs soaking wet and im about 200 along with my buddy.. His GF in the middle is about 140ish......
Maybe I'm wrong, but something dont look right....

I think 460s weigh more than Chevy's but there could be a difference in Fuel weight and placement. My SWTD water line is right at the rub rail and I don't cary much fuel. But that is a tunnel and completely different. It looks like your fuel tanks are all the way back and that may have something to do with the level. Fryjet had a chalenger, I will see if I can come up with some pix.

This might be a more extreeme example, but Randy has an extra person in the boat along w/ heavy interior, cooler, and probably about 250+#'s of more layup in the hull...............whereas mine has almost no interior, no tunnel ram and less layup on the nose. She's pretty light. :)
