Where do you live?
By The Associated Press
A list of the safest and most dangerous cities overall, as compiled by
Morgan Quitno Press, which bases the rankings on FBI figures released
in June. The list starts with the safest cities and ends with the most dangerous.
Only cities that reported crime rates were included in the list. For example, New Orleans was not included this year because its police department did not report figures.

When I lived in Santa Clarita, that was always near the top 5. What happened there, I don't even see them either.

Just like any city there are the bad parts and good parts. We live in Henderson NV (suburb of Vegas), and Money Mag put it on the top 20 small cities to live in.
Just like Mission Viejo is on that list for being safe, drive 15 minutes to Santa Ana, and you are in a fricken war zone. LOL

Only thing that list proves is you can take statistics and make them do any result you want. Being familiar with a lot of the list really question the rankings.
No doubt some of the bottom dwellers belong down there, but there are a bunch up higher that are real questionable.
The list was probably compliled with public funds and will somehow be used to waste more public funds .

Alot of California in there
...and Texas, except a lot of them actually could be combined as Ft Worth and Dallas.
We have our share of murders, homicides, what have you... but the one we really get nailed with is the Branch Davidians, and also The Lake Waco Triple Murders quite a few years back, which they have a good book to read on that...

You are probably correct. FBI compiles their stats using part 1 crimes. There are 7 part 1 crimes which include: Homicide, Rape, Robbery, Assaults, Burglary, Larceny and auto theft. These are all felony crimes. Several years back, someone tried to steal my truck in Rancho Cugamonga, clear as day what their intent was. I call Rancho PD (contract city of SBSO) and they take the report. Several weeks later, I was in my inusrance office settleing up some repairs. I saw a copy of the police report. It should have been classified as an attempt auto theft (664/10851). Instead they titled it as a vehicle tampering (CVC 10852) which is a misdemeanor. No big deal to me, but next year Rancho Cugamonga was the #1 safest city in the nation. Kinda of a coincidence.

Our whole state didn't even get honarable mention anywhere. I'm guessing all the criminals in Chicago and East St. Louis are pissed about that. All that hard work and violence going un-appreciated....It's a damn shame. :D

Only cities that reported crime rates were included in the list. For example, New Orleans was not included this year because its police department did not report figures.
It's like football where they get a bye week, we get a bye year on crime stats!
However, crime is up there this year with all the transients in the city. Next year I bet we are at the bottom of that list. NOLA is usually in the bottom 3 on those things.

They just said this mornning on the news, We need to clean our city up ( cleveland) or no one will want to come here and spend their money or want to live here, First off their is nothing to do here, maybe boating in a shithole lake that smells and a river that burns, but their is not 4-wheeling or rhino rides, or gaming.Hell most of it you can't even hunt anymore, The northern part around cleveland. Well I take that back you can hunt in the inter city, I see tags are up this year. And I'm not talking deer.
