That jet looks like a lake boat. How big of a deal is it to beat a lake boat?

Thanks for the support Tom.
That "lake" jet has a 572" Chevy with a 10-71 blower. The hull weighs 500lbs.
I ran him with my flat and he handed me my ass. Must say I enjoyed the Pearl returning the favor.

Thanks for the reality check Maxy.
Sometimes admiting that jetboats suck is a bitch, but I think you did OK. :220v:

... but if the big block jet has 1500 ft*lbs of torque and the outboard doesn't have enough torque to get on plane, the jetboat would win.
.... so that video proves nothing.

Wow a 572 with a 1071 & 500#'s!!!! Shoulda thrown a duece & a six pack at him! It would take a wacker to bring down a 572 with a 500 & some 1071's!!! :notam:

When I ran the jet I pulled him a lenghth out of the hole and then that 20 to 80 rush that any hard hitting jet has in abundance just smoked my ass.
The amazing thing with the Pearl is that it pulled the jet in that range and then did what any good whacker will do - walked away on the big end. The 3.4 has more torque than any OB I have ever seen.
Remember UT, that is a 26" wheel with 1.87 gears, not a 22 with 2.0s.

is the whacker running a ron hill prop ? what is the water temp and approx. how many fish are on said body of water per square acre ? This is all relivent to surface conditions of said boats !

Oddly enough, the total investment in the 3.4 is way under the cost of a drag 300 cause it can be built out of just about any POS you find laying around.
"Madman plantation" obviously spoken by someone who has never seen the Madman habitat.
