Has anyone ever tried installing an automatic transmission in a jet boat? And was it successful?
Figure with an automatic tranny you could use the biggest impeller out there since it would provide a gear reduction to get going.

You should try using one out of a treadmill.

It wont give you the ability to turn any more RPM than you are already turning, and may result in fewer rpm. Some have successfully underdriven their pumps to help get motors into their powerband. But I think that is a race only deal.
