Been in business for 21 years and never had an employee retire until now. The lady who handles the books and has done a very detailed, complete job for the entire 21 years is leaving at the end of December. She was like having my Mother work for me and was very dependable and trustworthy.
It is actually news that should make me feel good that the company has been sucessful and stood the test of time. I still feel sad to see her go and know that I have to adjust while another gets her job down pat.
I have to do something nice for her before she goes......

I will do something special for her. She likes working but her husband wants her home. I told her to tell him I don't like him anymore.....lol
 Why not let her do her job at home?

Maybe you should fire her before she can retire to keep your "retire free" streak alive. :)

Not possible...AR/AP and payroll. I think her husband would have a problem with it anyhow. He wants her back....lol He has been retired for about 5 years and I think they want to be able to travel and so forth a little more. I told her she better get some hobbies (she has none that I know of) or she is going to go crazy.
Your gonna have a helluva time finding a quality replacement..Good people like her are RARE... :220v:

whatever it is Tom, it needs to involve Diamonds, or one hell of a nice trip, something that will make a memory :)

A nice paid for vacation or a cruise would be pretty sweet. Congrats to her sounds like a great employee. And congrats to you for having your own business long enough to start seeing your employees retire.

give her your boat you won't have time for it because you will be training some dumb ass to do her job for the next five years to make them only a 1/4 as good as she was or a nice engraved watch and mabey a trip would work also

Ya Jeff...WTF is that? Did they go crazy and kill their family
The axe was swinging around here yesterday. Fired a whole crew and demoted a supervisor. I was feeling a little demented. :crossx: :skull:
